Jakob Marsee Homers Twice in Seven-RBI Night
Jakob Marsee continued an incredible start to his career with his best performance yet in a 13-4 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday. Marsee finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, seven RBI, and a stolen base. The 24-year-old launched a three-run homer in the first and added a two-run blast in the fifth. Since debuting on Aug. 1, Marsee has slashed an absurd .436/.542/.672 with three HRs, 13 RBI, eight runs scored, six steals, and 9:9 K:BB in a 13-game, 48-plate appearance span. He's the first player in league history to collect 10 or more extra-base hits and steal six-plus bases in his first 13 games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. As Miami's eighth-ranked prospect at MLB Pipeline, Marsee didn't reach the majors with a ton of hype, which makes his career-opening outburst all the more remarkable.
