Nolan McLean to Make MLB Debut on Saturday
Nolan McLean is set to make his MLB debut on Saturday against the Seattle Mariners. McLean has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the league this season and is finally being rewarded with a promotion. The right-hander opened the regular season with Double-A but needed only 26 1/3 innings to prove he was ready to join Triple-A Syracuse. At Double-A, he posted a stellar 1.37 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. Through 87 1/3 innings at the top level of the minor leagues, McLean posted a strong 2.78 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. During this stretch, McLean struck out 97 batters and allowed 38 free passes. Over his last four outings, he has looked very impressive, holding a 1.96 ERA and a strong 0.83 WHIP. Fantasy managers should expect McLean to replace Frankie Montas in the starting rotation for the foreseeable future.
