Jac Caglianone Tallies Four Hits in Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday
Jac Caglianone (hamstring) tallied four hits in Tuesday's game against the St. Paul Saints, going 4-for-5 with one run scored and one RBI. Caglianone landed on the injured list with this injury back on July 26, and took a positive step forward on Tuesday to return to the Royals lineup. Unfortunately for Caglianone, the Royals traded for Randal Grichuk and Mike Yastrzemski at the trade deadline, both of whom are outfielders, which limits his opportunities to secure a spot in the everyday lineup. Still, his upside is too good to pass up, which means he should get that chance to play every day once he returns. Before landing on the IL, the rookie produced a poor .147/.205/.280 slash line with five home runs, one stolen base, 10 RBI, and nine runs over 161 plate appearances through his first 41 big-league games. That being said, his .332 xwOBA and .260 xBA showcase signs that he was getting a bit unlucky.
