Max Muncy Scratched With Side Soreness on Wednesday
Max Muncy (side) felt soreness in his right side during his cage work on Wednsday and has been scratched from the lineup for the series finale against the hosting Los Angeles Angels, according to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. Manager Dave Roberts said Muncy will get testing during the team's scheduled day off, and he's considered day-to-day for now. Mookie Betts was not in the original lineup, but he'll re-enter and start at shortstop while batting second against Angels right-hander Kyle Hendricks. Rookie Alex Freeland will play third base and hit in the eight-hole as the Dodgers try to avoid a three-game sweep in the freeway series. Since Muncy returned from a stay on the injured list due to a bruised knee on Aug. 4, he's been hot, going 8-for-23 (.348) with four home runs and nine RBI in eight games. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Friday to see if he's active on Friday for the opener of a huge divisional series against the Padres.
