Tommy Edman Suffers Sprained Ankle
6 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle, wrist) sprained his ankle while fielding ground balls on Tuesday, according to manager Oliver Marmol. Edman's wrist rehab will now be put on hold while the severity of his ankle sprain is determined. It's yet another setback in what has been a frustrating year for Edman and his fantasy managers, as he has yet to play at all in 2024. It's especially frustrating for the 29-year-old after he had made some real strides in his recovery from right-wrist surgery. It's unclear how long his rehab will be put on hold, but hopefully Edman can still start a minor-league rehab assignment sooner than later. At this point, we probably won't see Edman until the second half of the season, but he should be a lineup regular for the Red Birds when he's finally cleared to make his 2024 debut.
