Titans Could Turn To Will Levis Early In 2023
2 years agoFor now, Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is the starter, Malik Willis is the backup and rookie second-rounder Will Levis is the No. 3. But once the season starts, it makes sense for Levis to be the top backup. Ideally, Levis can learn behind Tannehill for a year before the Titans let Tannehill walk next offseason. But there's also a scenario where Tennessee looks to trade or release Tannehill, who is entering the last year of his contract. There are questions about Levis' decision-making and efficiency, but the fact that the Titans traded up eight picks early in the second round is a clear sign that they think he can be their future at the position. Levis will be old for a rookie at 24 years old and won't have a fifth-year option attached to him, which gives the Titans more reason to see what they have in him sooner than later.
