Spencer Steer Excelling So Far In 2023
1 year agoIn his first full major-league season so far in 2023, Cincinnati Reds infielder Spencer Steer has made a name for himself. He's been a big part of the reason why the Reds head into this week's All-Star break sitting atop the National League Central division, as he's currently slashing .277/.367/.477 with an .844 OPS, 14 home runs, 19 doubles, two triples, 51 RBI, nine stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 376 trips to the plate over 88 games played. The 25-year-old former third-round pick of the Twins in 2019 did have a four-hit game on the Fourth of July last Tuesday, but he's heading into the break hitless in 15 at-bats in the last four games. Steer hasn't started out the month of July hitting that well, but he should remain a key piece of the Reds offense in the second half of the season, and he should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.
