3/7:Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) will soon be medically cleared to start his rehab as a pitcher, according to manager Brad Ausmus. Ohtani hasn't thrown since having Tommy John surgery Oct. 1 of last year. Ausmus said Ohtani's workload as a hitter will be scaled back when he is cleared to throw off flat ground. The Japanese two-way star won't pitch at all in 2019 but should be the team's regular DH in late April or early May. The 24-year-old hit .285 with 22 home runs, 61 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 326 at-bats in his rookie season, so he's certainly worth stashing in all mixed leagues as a hitter.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
