Russell Wilson In The Concussion Protocol
2 years agoDenver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (head) is officially in the concussion protocol on Monday, and the Broncos will follow all of the league's protocols, according to head coach Nathaniel Hackett. "His safety is by far the No. 1 most important thing," Hackett said. Wilson was injured late in the Week 14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and was replaced by backup Brett Rypien. Before he left, the 34-year-old he had one of his best games of an extremely disappointing season, going 23-for-36 for 247 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He also had four carries for a season-high 57 yards. With Denver eliminated from playoff contention, it makes no sense to rush Wilson back. Don't expect to have him in two-QB leagues in Week 15. If he can't clear the protocols, Rypien would make the start and be a low-end QB2 option against the Arizona Cardinals.
