Robbie Ray Has Grade 1 Elbow Strain
2 years agoAn MRI exam on Seattle Mariners left-hander Robbie Ray (elbow) on Saturday morning revealed a Grade 1 elbow strain. He will be shut down for two weeks and then be re-evaluated to see if he can resume throwing. Ray said he felt his forearm get tight in the second inning of his first outing of the season on Friday against the Cleveland Guardians, and he has since been placed on the injured list. Fantasy managers should expect the 31-year-old southpaw to miss at least a month of action, but he should be stashed in an IL spot in most leagues. With Ray sidelined in April, Chris Flexen is the most likely candidate to take Ray's rotation spot in Seattle, making him worth a deep-mixed and AL-only pickup.
