Raiders Release Damien Williams
1 year agoThe Las Vegas Raiders released running back Damien Williams on Tuesday now that Josh Jacobs is back with the team and signed for 2023, according to a source. Behind last year's rushing leader in Jacobs, the Raiders are going to enter Week 1 against the division-rival Denver Broncos with Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden in their running back room. The 31-year-old Williams only saw two carries in one game with the Atlanta Falcons last year, giving him 42 rushing attempts for 166 yards and two touchdowns in the last two years in Atlanta and Chicago. Williams' best season came in 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs, when he had a career-high 498 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 111 carries over 11 regular season games (six starts).
