The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Thursday that they signed head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht to multi-year contract extensions. Bowles' extension is for three seasons, according to sources, and will push his deal through the 2028 season. He is entering his fourth year as the head coach in 2025 with a 27-24 record and having won three straight NFC South titles from 2022 to 2024. Licht is entering his 12th season with the franchise and is currently the league's fifth-longest-tenured traditional GM. Tyler Loop, John Hoyland to Compete for Kicking Job
Tyler Loop out of Arizona in this year's NFL draft to replace long-time standout Justin Tucker, who was released this offseason. Loop is the favorite to succeed Tucker, but The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec thinks the Ravens could be headed for their first training camp kicking competition since Tucker beat out Billy Cundiff in 2012. John Hoyland, an undrafted rookie out of Wyoming, has been good enough to suggest that he could push Loop for the starting gig in training camp and the preseason this fall. The 23-year-old Loop impressed the coaching staff during offseason workouts after making 83.6% of his field goals in his four seasons with the Wildcats in college. Loop could be a bit inconsistent in his rookie season if he wins the job, but given the offense he's in, he could be fantasy relevant immediately.

Jets Release Anders Carlson
Anders Carlson on Wednesday and signed kicker Harrison Mevis in a corresponding move, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Mevis made 20 of his 21 field-goal attempts (95.2%) this year while playing for the UFL's Birmingham Stallions. Carlson, 27, is the younger brother of Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson. The Auburn product hasn't been as good as his older brother in the NFL, though, making 83.3% of his 48 field-goal tries since entering the league in 2023 with the Green Bay Packers. He went 13-for-15 on his field goals and 12-for-15 on extra points in seven games in 2024 with the San Francisco 49ers and the Jets. Carlson will now look for another team to sign with before training camp. Mevis will be competing with Caden Davis for the starting kicking job this summer.

Ryan Fitzgerald Favored to Win Panthers Kicking Job?
Matthew Wright and rookie Ryan Fitzgerald, and Joe Person of The Athletic believes the youngster has the leg up so far this offseason. Fitzgerald went unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft and was picked up by Carolina shortly after. Over his final two seasons at Florida State, he connected on 32 of his 34 field goal attempts and all 72 extra point tries. He did not miss any of his 18 total kicks a season ago. In his first NFL offseason, he continues to find success. "[Dave] Canales said it's too soon to name a leader in the kicking competition, but Fitzgerald appears to have the edge on veteran Matthew Wright, based on how each looked during the practices open to the media," Person wrote. "After a tough first week in rainy and windy conditions, Fitzgerald was 9-for-10 on field goals on the skinny goal posts over the next two practices with reporters present." If Carolina's offense takes a big step forward under third-year quarterback Bryce Young, the team's starting kicker could have solid fantasy football value.

The Minnesota Vikings signed general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to an undisclosed multi-year contract extension on Thursday night, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The Vikings are 34-17 with two playoff appearances since Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O'Connell arrived, and now both are signed with the organization for years to come. Both O'Connell and Adofo-Mensah signed four-year contracts when they first arrived in 2022. Minnesota has the league's sixth-best regular-season winning percentage (.667) since Adofo-Mensah and O'Connell were hired. The Vikings have received only 107 starts from players they drafted since 2022, but Adofo-Mensah has compiled a stellar free-agent class in 2024 that included quarterback Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
Jake Moody Changes Kicking Approach
Jake Moody struggled last year after returning from a high-ankle sprain. The former third-rounder changed his approach this offseason from taking three steps before a kick to just two, according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur. Because Moody missed nine of 20 field-goal attempts in the last nine games, forcing the Niners to bring in veteran kicker Greg Joseph to give Moody competition this year. Before getting injured last year, the 25-year-old made 13 of his first 14 field-goal tries before spraining his ankle in a Week 5 loss to the Arizona Cardinals when he tried to make a tackle on a kickoff. He missed the next three games and wasn't the same when he returned. Moody is now fully healthy and likes the way he's kicking the ball this offseason, so he'll be a bounce-back candidate as a starting fantasy kicker in 2025.

The Las Vegas Raiders and two-time All-Pro punter AJ Cole agreed to a four-year, $15.8 million contract extension on Monday that includes $11 million guaranteed, multiple sources tell ESPN's Ryan McFadden. The deal makes Cole the highest-paid punter in the NFL. The 29-year-old previously signed a four-year, $12 million deal in 2021. The three-time Pro Bowler has been one of the top players at the position and has finished in the top five in yards per punt for four straight seasons. Cole was first in that category back in 2021, when he averaged 50 yards per punt. NFL Players Expected to be Allowed to Take Part in Flag Football in Olympics
Tyreek Hill has already said he'd be interested in joining the U.S. flag football squad, and many other players are likely to join him before the 2028 Summer Olympics. Hopefully for fantasy football purposes, there won't be too many injuries that arise from NFL players taking part in the Olympics in 2028.

A vote to allow NFL players to take part in flag football for the first time during the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles is expected to pass at Tuesday's league meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Olympics should be easy," one source said about Tuesday's vote. The resolution needs to be approved by at least 24 of the 32 team owners, and the NFL will then need to negotiate with the NFL Players Association, Olympic officials and nationals governing bodies on specifics of letting NFL players participate. 49ers Sign Kicker Greg Joseph
Greg Joseph to an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday, according to his agent. Joseph will head to the NFC West after he spent 2024 kicking for three teams -- the New York Giants, Washington Commanders and New York Jets. In eight games with those three clubs, the 30-year-old veteran went 16-for-20 on his field-goal attempts (1-for-2 from 50-plus yards) and 11-for-11 on his extra-point tries. Joseph will be in a competition in training camp for the starting kicking job this summer with Jake Moody, who will be the favorite to win the competition. Joseph entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic before debuting with the Cleveland Browns in 2018. He has an 82.3% success rate on 141 career field-goal attempts over his six seasons in the league.

Jets Release Greg Zuerlein
Greg Zuerlein (knee) has been released by the organization on Friday. This news doesn't come as a shock after Zuerlein struggled last season. He appeared in eight games, Zuerlein made only 9-of-15 field goal attempts, which is the worst of his career. The 37-year-old missed time with a knee injury as well, so it wouldn't be surprising if he decided to retire. If not, Zuerlein will likely need to earn his spot in training camp on another roster. The expectation is that Anders Carlson and Cade Davis will compete for the starting gig this fall. UPDATE: Zuerlein was released with a failed-physical designation.

The Minnesota Vikings will host the NFC North division-rival Detroit Lions on Christmas Day on Dec. 25 in Week 17 in 2025 in a game that will be on Netflix, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Lions went 15-2 in the regular season last year to win the division, but they were upset in the Divisional Round by the upstart Washington Commanders. Detroit beat the Vikings twice in 2024 -- 31-29 in Week 7 in Minnesota and 31-9 in Detroit in the Week 18 regular-season finale that decided the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
