Mike Trout Starting On The Bench Tuesday
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is not in the team's starting lineup against the visiting Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. Trout will get a day of rest a night after swiping his second stolen base of the year and also striking out three times. The future Hall of Famer has been cold with the bat in the month of June, hitting only .184 (14-for-76) with four home runs, two doubles, 10 RBI, 19 walks and 28 strikeouts in 22 games. He's gone 4-for-20 (.200) with two homers, two RBI and nine K's in his last six games to drop his season line to .253/.363/.480. Still, the 31-year-old All-Star continues to get on base at a high clip and has cleared the fences 17 times in 281 at-bats. Continue to start him when he's in the lineup. Mickey Moniak is getting the start in center field and is batting leadoff again versus White Sox right-hander Michael Kopech.
