Kyle Lewis Awarded AL Rookie Of The Year
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis was named the American League Rookie of the Year on Monday. The 25-year-old center fielder received all 30 first-place votes in the balloting, becoming the 12th unanimous winner of the AL award, joining Carlton Fisk, Derek Jeter, Mike Trout and Aaron Judge. He hit .262 with 11 home runs and 28 RBI in 58 games and led all rookies with 37 runs, 90 total bases and a .364 on-base percentage. White Sox outfielder Luis Robert finished second in the voting, followed by Astros right-hander Cristian Javier. Lewis finished the shortened season by hitting just .147 in September. He was the 11th overall pick of the M's in the 2016 draft.
