Ke'Bryan Hayes Hitting Seventh Against Rays
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes is starting at third base and batting seventh in the lineup on Thursday against right-hander Zach Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays. With Hayes moving down the order, Tucupita Marcano will get the nod in the leadoff spot for the Bucs. Hayes has really struggled of late at the plate, so the Pirates are trying to take some pressure off him to get him going offensively. The 26-year-old has gone 4-for-24 (.167) with a double and five strikeouts in his last seven games to drop his season line to .222/.281/.350 with eight doubles, two triples, a homer, nine RBI, three stolen bases and 19 runs scored in 30 games played. Those playing DFS will probably want to look elsewhere until Hayes gets going again.
