Jonathan Taylor Present But Not Taking Part In Minicamp
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is present at mandatory minicamp this week, but he's not participating in drills on the field. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise after Taylor had arthroscopic debridement surgery on his right ankle back in January. The 24-year-old had back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons in his first two years in the NFL, but he took a step back in 2022 with 861 yards and four TDs on 192 carries while missing the final three games of the year with his ankle injury. He's expected to be fully healthy for the start of training camp and will operate as Indy's lead back yet again in 2023. Taylor isn't in play as the top overall fantasy pick in drafts after coming off ankle surgery, but he should still come off the board in the early rounds as a top-five RB.
