3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that he thinks cornerback Jason Verrett (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions. It's terrible news for a player that just has not been able to stay healthy. Verrett was a first-round pick by the Chargers in 2014, but he's never been able to play in a full season due to injuries. Last year was only the second time in six seasons that he's played over 10 games. If he does indeed have a torn ACL, the 30-year-old will surely miss the rest of the 2021 campaign. Defensive backs K'Waun Williams and Deommodore Lenoir would see more playing time if Verrett is done for the season. Despite the bad news, the 49ers defense will remain a strong starting option for fantasy managers throughout the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
