Jamal Adams Could Become Highest-Paid Safety
5 years agoNew York Jets safety Jamal Adams wants to get a long-term extension from the team this offseason, but the Jets are in no rush with two more years of control of Adams, plus they could use the franchise tag on him in 2022. Bears safety Eddie Jackson reset the safety market last month, and he and Adams are the only safeties with two Pro Bowls and an All-Pro selection the last two years. Adams will make $3.5 million in 2020, which is 23rd among safeties. It's likely that the stud safety will be looking to become the NFL's highest-paid safety. Head coach Adam Gase has called Adams the "heart and soul of the defense," and he's certainly one of the most attractive fantasy safeties in IDP leagues for the foreseeable future.
