Jake Burger Cleared For Rehab Assignment
2 years agoChicago White Sox third baseman Jake Burger (oblique) has been swinging without issues and is headed to Triple-A Charlotte to begin a minor-league rehab assignment. He is hopeful of being activated from the 10-day injured list when he's eligible this Sunday. The 27-year-old is dealing with a mild left oblique strain, so he should be back in the big leagues soon, barring a setback. However, with Yoan Moncada (back) expected to rejoin the White Sox this weekend as well, Burger may not be in line for much playing time at the hot corner. The team has been using Hanser Alberto at third base recently with both Burger and Moncada on the injured list. Burger is hitting just .224 (15-for-67), but he does have five doubles, seven home runs and 14 RBI in just 23 games.
