Erik Jones One Of The Likeliest Longshots To Win At Daytona
1 year agoAfter having his breakout season for Legacy Motor Club last year, Erik Jones has struggled to match those results this year, likely because Chevrolet has withdrawn funding from the team after it switched to Toyota. Although he can't point his way into the playoffs, Jones is still one of the likeliest drivers to win his way in because drafting tracks is one of his biggest strengths. Legacy's lack of speed shouldn't matter since drafting tracks are the great equalizers. The best predictor of winning is usually passing for the lead and Jones made on-track passes for the lead a staggering 26 times at Daytona, Atlanta, and Talladega in 2022. He knows how to put himself out front. His passing makes him more likely to win his way in than most other longshots.
