DJ LeMahieu Won't Accept Yankees Qualifying Offer
4 years agoInfielder DJ LeMahieu will not accept the New York Yankees qualifying offer and will test the open market as a free agent, according to a source. LeMahieu was one of six free agents to receive the one-year, $18.9 million offer. The 32-year-old is a finalist for the American League MVP after winning the MLB batting crown in 2020 by hitting .364. He also had 10 home runs and 27 RBI while leading the AL with a .421 on-base percentage and 1.011 OPS. If the Yankees don't bring him back, LeMahieu will be one of the top free agents available. He has proven that he can hit the ball hard to all parts of the field and is impossible to shift against. Not only does he contribute in all fantasy categories, but he also gives his fantasy managers positional flexibility.
