Desmond Trufant Signing With The Bears
4 years agoFormer Detroit Lions cornerback Desmond Trufant is signing an undisclosed one-year deal with the Chicago Bears on Friday, according to a source. The Lions released Trufant at the beginning of March after he struggled through injuries the last two seasons. His addition will help offset the loss of Pro Bowl cornerback Kyle Fuller, whose official release should go through on Friday. The 30-year-old played in just 15 games the last two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and Lions, recording 29 solo tackles (two for loss), five interceptions, 11 passes defensed and one sack. He played in just six games for Detroit in his lone season in 2020. The 2015 Pro Bowler will provide a veteran presence in Chicago's secondary if he can stay on the field.
