Chas McCormick Out With Sore Back
2 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Chas McCormick (back) is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels with a sore back, according to manager Dusty Baker. Baker said McCormick "overdid it" on his minor-league rehab assignment and also wondered if fellow outfielder Michael Brantley (shoulder) did something similar. McCormick recently returned from a stint on the injured list, but hopefully this back flare-up won't cause him to go back on it anytime soon. For now, fantasy managers should consider the 28-year-old day-to-day. In his place, Jake Meyers is starting in center field on Wednesday and is hitting eighth against Angels right-hander Griffin Canning. McCormick has only played in 12 games this year and has gone 11-for-44 (.250) with three doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and four steals.
