Antonio Gibson Misses Practice Thursday
4 years agoWashington Football Team rookie running back Antonio Gibson (toe) sat out of practice on Thursday. Head coach Ron Rivera said he's "very hopeful" that Gibson will return at some point for the stretch run. The club signed Lamar Miller as an "insurance policy." Gibson suffered a painful turf-toe injury in Week 13 against the Steelers and was forced to sit out last week, so he's not trending in the right direction towards playing in Week 15 against the Seahawks. Fantasy managers should not plan on having him available this weekend, but check back on Friday for his official status. If the 22-year-old rookie misses his second straight game, it should be J.D. McKissic handling the majority of the backfield work yet again versus Seattle. That would make him a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 in PPR leagues. McKissic had a season-high 11 carries for 68 yards and also caught two passes for 18 yards in last week's win over Washington. Peyton Barber will also mix in if Gibson misses another game, but he's more of an RB3/flex in standard-scoring leagues.
