Anthony Santander Not Playing Wednesday
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander is not in the team's starting lineup against left-hander Ken Waldichuk and the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday because he's dealing with a sore back, according to manager Brandon Hyde. The skipper said it's "not a huge deal," though, so Santander should be available off the bench and treated as day-to-day by fantasy managers. The 28-year-old switch-hitter is off to a slow start for the O's, going 8-for-43 (.186) with four doubles, no homers, four RBI and two runs scored in the first 11 games of 2023. With Santander starting on the bench Wednesday, Adam Frazier draws the start in right field and is batting eighth against Waldichuk. Frazier has little offensive upside, especially low in the lineup.
