Alex Wood Likely To Go On Injured List
Alex Wood (hamstring) is likely to land on the 15-day injured list after leaving his start early on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins with a left hamstring strain. The 32-year-old southpaw injured himself fielding a bunt in the third inning. He came into his outing on Tuesday with a strong 1.17 ERA (3.98 FIP), 1.56 WHIP, five walks and eight strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings in his first two starts of the year. It's a tough break for Wood and his fantasy managers, as he'll now miss at least the next two weeks of action. It remains to be seen who the Giants choose to replace Wood in their starting rotation in the near term.
