Adley Rutschman To Participate In Home Run Derby
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman announced on his Instagram account that he will take part in this year's Home Run Derby in Seattle next Monday during All-Star week. He's the first Orioles player to participate in the event since Trey Mancini was the runner-up in 2021. Rutschman will be looking to join Cal Ripken Jr. (1991) and Miguel Tejada (2004) as Orioles Home Run Derby champions. In just his second big-league season in 2022, the 25-year-old switch-hitting Rutschman has become one of the most valuable backstops in fantasy by hitting .268/.374/.415 with 11 home runs, 11 doubles, 35 RBI and 38 runs scored in 353 trips to the plate over 79 games for Baltimore. In his first Home Run Derby experience, most folks won't be expecting Rutschman to do much damage.
