NFL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Chiefs Vs. Commanders Monday Night Showdown

Deebo Samuel Sr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Koby's top NFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel -- Chiefs vs. Commanders MNF slate for Week 8 Monday Night Football (Oct. 27, 2025). His NFL daily fantasy sleeper picks.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We are back with a single Monday Night Football game for the first time since Week 5. Sunday Night Football was a solid game. The Packers finally got a win in Pittsburgh for the first time since 1970, and they cruised to the victory. Hopefully, we get another great game here on MNF as well!

We have an interesting matchup as the Chiefs are beginning to roll. The Washington Commanders are without their leader in Jayden Daniels (hamstring), and backup Marcus Mariota will step into that role as they travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. The Commanders do get their WRs back, though, as Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. return to the lineup.

In this article, I will be providing you with my Week 8 MNF daily fantasy football lineup picks for the 2025 NFL season. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on DraftKings. Be sure also to check out our weekly NFL DFS articles and NFL DFS tools to help you win big!

MVP/Captain - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Patrick Mahomes - QB, KC ($16.5K DK/$19.5K FD)

Patrick Mahomes and Rashee Rice will likely be the top two highest-owned guys in the MVP spot. I'm leaning more towards Mahomes, though, as I am expecting a bit of regression from Rice. I think what we saw from him was great to start, but I also don't think it is sustainable. He had a relatively low yards per reception of only six yards on seven receptions.

The amount of targets is excellent to see, but for him to be the most expensive player on FanDuel and second-highest on DraftKings is a bit too rich for my blood.

Instead, I'm going to go with the guy who has proven himself over and over this season in Mahomes. Mahomes is on an unreal run in the last four games. He has scored at a minimum of 26 fantasy points and has pushed 30+ in two of those four games. The Commanders give up the tenth most receiving TDs this season, and Mahomes has been a big threat on his feet as well.

He has four rushing touchdowns and is averaging six rushing attempts per game.

Mahomes is the clear option for MVP in your cash games, and should be highly considered in GPPs as well; however, beware of the ownership.

Deebo Samuel Sr. - WR, WSH ($13.5K DK/$16.5K FD)

Samuel has been a big part of the Commanders' success this season, and even with McLaurin back in the lineup, I think Samuel is a smash play. The Commanders are likely to be playing from behind in this one, as they have climbed to a near 12-point spread. McLaurin only played in the first three games of the season, and Samuel still outperformed him in two of those games, tallying 14 and 19 fantasy points in the first two weeks of the season.

It appears that the game plan revolves around Samuel, and he genuinely gets the best matchup among the WR core. He should be lined up against Trent McDuffie tonight, and he has given up .22 fantasy points per route run this season. Going with Samuel in this spot at MVP provides a little bit of salary relief and should get you off some of the high ownership that the top two Chiefs guys will bring in.

Other Captains: Rashee Rice, Marcus Mariota

Flex Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Travis Kelce - TE, KC ($8K DK/$7.4K FD)

I'm going to be talking about the Chiefs quite a bit in this one, but Kelce could be in line for a big game. The Commanders give up the fifth most TDs to opposing TEs and are in the bottom half of the league in receiving yards. Kelce has seen his price slowly drop, and with Rice back in the lineup, that definitely hurt him a bit.

He still finished with 54 yards in last week's win over the Raiders, but the targets dropped off a bit.

I expect that number to climb back up, and maybe we get an extended TE day after all the TEs that scored in yesterday's slate of games. This season, he has scored only twice, but is still third in red zone target share on the team. I'm hoping that last week's performance scares some people off, and we catch Kelce on some great ownership.

Kelce will always be Mahomes' safety blanket, and having him paired with Mahomes is usually a good bet.

Kansas City D/ST, ($4.4K DK/$6.4K FD)

This is a good spot to get something different. I rarely use defenses, but with a backup QB in place for Daniels, anything is possible. So far in his two other starts, Mariota has been serviceable, but it has been against very mediocre competition in the Raiders and Falcons. He did have a turnover in both of those games.

I anticipate their defense being pretty low-owned, and if they somehow end up with a pick-six, this is gonna be a money play. A lot of people will be stacking both sides, but I think a Chiefs stack is the way to go here.

Other Flex Options: Isiah Pacheco, Xavier Worthy, Terry McLaurin

Value Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Zach Ertz - TE, WSH ($5.6K DK/$6K FD)

The Commanders might get down early, as I've mentioned before, which could lead to him throwing the ball quite a bit. The Chiefs' defense has been stout against TEs this season, but this is the clear value play for the Commanders. So far this season, Ertz has seen an 18% reception share, and he sees quite the jump in targets when it comes to the red zone.

He has seen a 25% red zone target share this season, which is good for the second-highest, only behind Samuel. Ertz has seen double-digit fantasy scoring in all but three games this season. In a game script that should feature a heavy pass game, Ertz is a top value option.

Marquise Brown - WR, KC ($5.4K DK/$4.8K FD)

Rice's return to the lineup has overshadowed Marquise Brown, but at this price, I will gladly take a guy who has garnered a 23.5% red zone target share this season and has four touchdowns on the season. He played in 33% of snaps in last week's game. The Chiefs have been using quite a few WRs in their game plan, as seven WRs took snaps for them last week.

Last week, he was still targeted four times and caught two of them, one for a touchdown. It's encouraging to see him get targets even with Rice returning to the lineup. At his price, we don't need much for him to reach his value. If we get three to four catches and a touchdown, that should be more than enough to let us spend our savings elsewhere.

Other Value Options: Kareem Hunt, Jaylin Lane, Harrison Butker

Sample NFL DFS Lineup

Here is a lineup option I like for Sunday morning's slate on FanDuel. Note that sample lineups are not intended to be used in contests by readers, but instead to show the type of roster construction that I am considering when building my lineups.
