DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Corbin Burnes vs. OAK ($9,800 DraftKings; $11,500 FanDuel)

Talk about a mismatch. Burnes is one of the best pitchers in baseball and has a 0.92 WHIP over his first five starts of the season. The Athletics have scored the second-fewest runs and struck out the second-most times in baseball. Things won’t get easier for them, with Zack Gelof (oblique) being placed on the injured list Thursday. Burnes comes with a hefty salary, but he also has tremendous upside.

Zach Eflin at CWS ($9,000 DraftKings; $9,500 FanDuel)

It’s not easy to do, but the White Sox have been even worse than the Athletics. They have scored the fewest runs in baseball, averaging just 2.2 runs per game. They have only hit 14 home runs as a team. Eflin’s stats aren’t going to jump off the page in any particular area, but he entered this year with an FIP of 3.68 or lower in each of the last four seasons. Given his opponent, Eflin is difficult to pass up in DFS.

Kyle Harrison vs. PIT ($8,400 DraftKings; $8,200 FanDuel)

Harrison has had problems keeping hitters inside the ballpark. Over 34.2 innings with the Giants last season, he gave up eight home runs. He has been taken deep five times over his 27 innings this season. What he does bring is plenty of strikeout upside. Over 20 starts at Triple-A last year, he posted a 35.6 percent strikeout rate. That could lead him to success against the Pirates, who have struck out the sixth-most times in baseball.

Also consider: Zac Gallen at SEA, Shota Imanaga at BOS

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Gunnar Henderson – SS, BAL vs. Ross Stripling ($6,000 DK; $4,200 FD)

Stripling doesn’t miss a lot of bats, posting a 21.7 percent strikeout rate for his career. That mark is even lower this season at 17.6 percent. This is going to be a difficult matchup for him against Henderson, who has already launched eight home runs and stole five bases this season. After posting an 11.4 percent barrel rate and a 51.7 percent hard-hit rate last year, Henderson has a 15.1 percent barrel rate and a 58.9 percent hard-hit rate this season.

Isaac Paredes – 3B, TB vs. Chris Flexen ($4,600 DK; $3,100 FD)

Play power hitters against Flexen. Last season, he was taken deep 25 times over just 102.1 innings. He has logged only 19.2 innings this year but has already allowed four home runs. One of the best power threats on the Rays is Paredes, who has hit six home runs this year after going deep 31 times last season.

Nathaniel Lowe – 1B, TEX vs. Graham Ashcraft ($3,800 DK; $2,700 FD)

Lowe had been a pillar of health, playing at least 157 games in each of the last three seasons. However, an oblique injury landed him on the injured list heading into this season. He has appeared in five games since making his return and launched his first home run Thursday against the Mariners. Overall, he is 5-for-17 with three walks. His salary is too cheap for a matchup against Ashcraft, who has a career 4.85 ERA and a 4.68 FIP.

Also consider: Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, Austin Riley

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Mike Trout – OF, LAA vs. Bailey Ober ($6,300 DK; $4,100 FD)

When Trout is healthy, he is still one of the best hitters in all of baseball. He has come out of the gate firing on all cylinders, recording a .361 ISO and a .392 wOBA. There isn’t much to be nervous about with him facing Ober, who was crushed for eight runs over 1.1 innings in his first start of the year against the Royals. He has turned things around since then, but both of his last two starts have come against a Tigers lineup that has the fifth-worst OPS in baseball.

Marcell Ozuna - OF, ATL vs. Logan Allen ($5,400 DK; $4,400 FD)

Ozuna has lowered his strikeout rate to 15.8 percent this season, which is on pace to be the lowest mark of his career. It hasn’t come at the expense of his power, given his .333 ISO. Facing the lefty Allen could enable Ozuna to remain hot at the plate. Last season, Ozuna recorded a .980 OPS against left-handed pitchers, compared to a .881 OPS versus righties.

Daulton Varsho - OF, TOR vs. Gavin Stone ($3,800 DK; $3,300 FD)

Varsho was a disaster at the plate to begin the season, hitting 6-for-38 with no home runs over his first 13 games. Since then, he has been 14-for-38 with six home runs and four doubles. His salaries are cheap on both sites, which might make him too good to pass up against Stone. In 2023, Stone posted a 4.74 ERA and a 4.52 FIP at Triple-A. Over 49 career innings in the majors, he has a 7.90 ERA and a 5.32 FIP.

Also consider: Ronald Acuna Jr., Colton Cowser, Michael Conforto
