LEC DFS Lineup Picks for 7/16/21 - FanDuel, DraftKings League Of Legends Daily Fantasy

Nolan Roth's League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LEC DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 7/16/21. He discusses the LEC LoL slates and his top targets.

Welcome to RotoBaller's coverage of League of Legends DFS for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Be on the lookout for coverage of the LPL, LCK, and LCS as well as we have some great analysts covering all LoL leagues for the Summer split. Today, I am focusing on the 5-game LEC slate that has contests available on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

We are down to the final three weeks of the LEC summer split. It is now crunch time for many of the teams looking to make a push into playoffs. It looks to be an 8 team race for the top 6 spots with Schalke and SK all but eliminated.

Today I'll be bringing you my top League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for the LEC slate on Friday, July 16th, 2021 at 12:00 PM EST. You can check me out on Twitter @nolanroth10 and follow me for more LOL content!

LEC DFS Matchups

  • Misfits (-260) vs. XL
  • Schalke vs. Rogue (-425)
  • SK vs. Mad Lions (-450)
  • Fnatic (-310) vs. Astralis
  • Vitality vs. G2 (-210)

Captain/MVP

Nisqy - FNC: Fnatic lead the league in kills by a significant margin (32). Nisqy is second to Upset in kill share at 23.9%. While Upset is also worth consideration for the captain spot, Nisqy comes in cheaper and gives more flexibility for the rest of your lineup. Nisqy also put up 8 kills in both of Fnatic's games last week.

Bwipo– FNC: I thought hard about putting in one of Caps/Rekkles in this spot, but looking at the numbers, you are going to want someone from Fnatic as your captain. As mentioned above Fnatic have 32 more kills than any other team this split, to make it even better Astralis have the second most deaths in the LEC. Both teams are in the top half of the league for combined kills per minute (CKPM). The reason for picking Bwipo is that he brings a 71.6% kill share so you know he is going to be heavily involved in the bloodbath. He is also the 7th most expensive jungle on FD

TOP

Adam - FNC: I don't like to do this, but this article is going to feature every Fnatic player. You are going to have to decide which of the 5 members you aren't going to play and the nice thing with Adam is that being a top laner he comes in at a reduced salary. Adam leads HiRit by 1 for most kills in the top lane and this game against Astralis should feature plenty of kills.

HiRit- MSF: HiRit and Adam are neck and neck in the battle for most kills in the top lane. Kryze along with the entire XL team has looked so much better since Markoon and Advienne joined the roster. While this will make it a tougher matchup for HiRit and Misfits, the new XL roster is more aggressive and that translates into more team fights, which gives HiRit the chance to add to his kill total.

JUNGLE

Bwipo – FNC: If you haven't chosen Bwipo in the captain slot, he is worth considering here

Jankos - G2: After last week, I feel confident in saying G2 is back. This is an important game for both G2 and Vitality as they are within one win of each other in the standings. G2 looked good against Astralis last week before absolutely slaughtering Rogue 18-1 in kills. Vitality has shown recently they are willing to take any fight even when they shouldn't. G2 should punish them for their mistakes. Jankos is second to Mikyx in kill participation. Jankos is much cheaper than Bwipo on DK.

Elyoya – MAD: Elyoya has been playing really well, and Mad Lions against SK will not be a close game. Look for Elyoya to find an early advantage and snowball that into the win for MAD. He went 6/0/8 last game against SK.

MID

Nisqy- MSF: If Nisqy isn’t your captain, get him locked in here.

Caps – G2: Caps has definitely had his struggles this split, but since shaving his head both he and G2 have looked like a new team. While he took a backseat to Rekkles in the Rogue game, he dominated on Gwen against Astralis the game earlier. If Nisqy is your captain, Caps is a great choice here.

Humanoid - MAD: While I like both Nisqy and Caps more on this slate, they will likely be the two highest-owned mid laners as well. SK is really bad and MAD is really good, that is really all you need to know. Humanoid is second in kill share and tied for first in kill participation for Mad Lions. If the game goes long enough he has the upside to put up a massive stat line.

ADC

Rekkles - G2: Rekkles had a huge week last week and all of G2 seems more focused now going 2-0 after dropping 4 straight. Rekkles has a 33.1% kill share and a 28.1% gold share. G2 is happy to play around Rekkles. Rekkles had 17 kills and 1 death last week. The only worrisome thing is Crownshot doesn't die very often either so the lane phase won't feature too many fights. Rekkles will rack up his points during team fights.

Upset - FNC: Upset leads Fnatic in kills and has a good matchup against Astralis. Fnatic has shown a willingness to play through Upset and make him a legitimate win condition. Upset should rack up the kills in this game.

Hans Sama - RGE: A lot of ownership will be on Fnatic and G2 this slate so finding a pivot at certain positions will offer plenty of leverage. Rekkles embarrassed Hans in their last game and I expect he will want to come out show that was just a one-off game. Rogue should have no trouble with Schalke and are always looking to make Hans Sama their win condition. Hans went 4/0/10 in their last matchup against Schalke on Varus. Something tells me we might just see his signature Draven in this game.

SUPPORT

Hylissang- FNC: Hylissang is the type of support you want to play in DFS, he is happy to engage in fights and kick things off for his team. While you have to live with a few bad engages now and then, he racks up the assist numbers most of the time.

Kaiser – MAD: Kaiser much like Hylissang is aggressive and one of the better supports in the league. Aggressive supports are the ones you want to target in DFS as they like to make plays happen. MAD should have no trouble dismantling SK and Kaiser should rack up assists in the process.

Mikyx - G2: I debated not putting Mikyx in here as he doesn't have the same upside as the supports listed above. If you are rocking with a 4 man G2 stack, Mikyx should be in the lineup as he carries the highest kill participation of any G2 member.

TEAM

Rogue: Schalke is the worst team at securing both dragons and barons. Rogue has only been middle of the pack but those numbers will look much better after this game. Rogue is so much better than Schalke and had 26 points in the team slot last time they played. A similar score can be expected.

G2: G2 is surprisingly cheap at $4800 on DK. I originally was going to write up XL as a cheap team option who even in losses has put up respectable points, but for only $600 more I think it is worth finding a way to get G2. G2 is second in the league in dragon control and third in the league in baron control.

Final Thoughts

Both Rogue and Mad Lions should win their games easily, but I also expect them to have lower kill totals than the other three games. I would be all over the MSF/XL game if it were a different slate but even though it will be chalky FNC and G2 look like the way to go. With that being said, finding ways to differentiate on this slate will be important. Elyoya, Vetheo, Humanoid, and Hans Sama are some of my favorite one-off plays to help your lineups be different from the norm.
