FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (3/7/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dan Palyo highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 3/7/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my FanDuel NBA DFS picks column! We have a five-game main slate on tap for Saturday night on FanDuel with the 5:00 game between Houston and Charlotte being the lone NBA game that is not included.

Last night we had a very high scoring slate, which I expected with how many games had high totals and with how much value became available during the day. I hope some of my Friday picks helped you cash. There were some really good plays in yesterday's column, including a Kristaps Porzingis 65 FanDuel point gem. After a star-studded slate last night we have very few studs on tonight's slate and not a single player priced over 10k on FanDuel.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/7/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. Find me in the NBA Chat Room or @ThunderDanDFS on Twitter.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Collin Sexton - PG, CLE vs. DEN ($6,700)

Sexton should be a popular play tonight, but I don't recommend fading him just to be different. He's playing as minutes as he can handle with the Cavs being really shorthanded in the backcourt. Darius Garland will sit out again for Cleveland and impressive rookie Kevin Porter Jr. will also miss this game. With the potential of playing 40+ minutes tonight, Sexton is just too cheap and one look at his game log will show just how awesome he is playing right now. With over 50 FanDuel points in back-to-back games against some tough teams like Boston and Utah, Sexton has shown that he's pretty matchup-proof right now with his current role, therefore I don't worry about Denver's defensive prowess or the slow pace of this game.

Jamal Murray - PG, DEN @ CLE ($6,500)

Staying in this game, I like the idea of running it back with Murray for Denver. Point guards have put up some big numbers against this Cavs team this season and Murray is the kind of DFS player who never gets priced up too high because of his rollercoaster game log. He's been pretty "meh" lately, but this could be a true ceiling spot as the Cavs defense rates as one of the worst in the league. He had a really nice outing against them back in January in which he went for 42 FanDuel points in 35 minutes and I think the Cavs put up enough of a fight tonight that we see a full compliment of minutes for the Denver starters.

Kevin Huerter - SG, ATL @ MEM ($5,300)

I'm going right back to Huerter tonight after he was an awesome 7x value on last night's slate and was featured in my column yesterday. With Trae Young potentially still out with an illness (he missed last night's game), we could see more ball-handling opportunities for Huerter, who piled up a season-high eleven assists against Washington last night. This matchup between Memphis and Atlanta just happened last week with the Grizzlies thrashing the Hawks 127-88, however, I think we see a more competitive game this time around. Both teams played (and lost) last night and this game environment should be excellent for fantasy production. Back to Huerter, he was one of the lone bright spots for Atlanta in that game as he had 34 FanDuel points and he's now posted three straight solid performances.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Tobias Harris  - SF, PHI @ GS ($7,300)

The game between Philly and Golden State is one of my favorites to target tonight. The Sixers are playing without three starters, two of which are Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid - their best two players. This has thrust Tobias Harris into the role of leading scorer and he's put up some solid numbers while the other Sixers' starters have been out. Over the last five games, he's averaging 23 points, seven boards, and four assists and has posted a solid 26% usage rate. Tonight, the Sixers face off against the sixth-worst rated defense in the NBA and will get a small boost in pace, too. I look for Harris to continue to lead the Sixers in scoring and his solid contributions in other statistical categories give him some nice upside even as his price starts to go up.

Andrew Wiggins - SF, GS vs. PHI ($7,400)

I want some Golden State pieces from this game to pair with some of the Sixers that I like, and while Steph Curry was awesome in his return the other night, he also was limited to only 27 minutes which caps his upside at 8.2k quite a bit. The good news for Wiggins is that he still had a solid game alongside Curry, scoring 21 points and grabbing ten boards on his way to 40 FanDuel points. He's now cracked 40 in four straight games and is finally starting to show signs that he may not just be a hollow scorer who only gets value from his scoring. This Philly defense is significantly worse without Simmons, Embiid, and Richardson and actually ranks 29th in the NBA over the last five games. I think this game has the potential to be a high scoring affair and I like the Warriors to keep this one interesting at home.

Al Horford - PF, PHI @ GS ($6,500)

While I was tempted to go with the reliable Mike Scott (4,300) here for value, but I'm not sure that we need to punt all that much today with so many solid mid-range targets. Big Al has done a solid job filling in at the center position with Embiid on the shelf. While he's never going to be a twenty point per game scorer at this stage of his career, he's still a solid rebounder and an elite passing big man. He's averaged twelve points, seven boards, and six assists per game since Embiid went down and that type of well-rounded production gives him an excellent floor for cash games. He can still block some shots and grab some steals, too, giving him a solid ceiling for this price, too.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Hassan Whiteside - C, POR vs. SAC ($9,600)

I usually like to pay up for the top center on the board on FanDuel as a general strategy, and I think that might be wise tonight. Whiteside is one hundred dollars less than Nikola Jokic but is about as expensive as he's been this season. The price is well worth it, however, as he's been absolutely crushing it from a fantasy point perspective of late. He had a massive 20-20 game last night against Phoenix and blocked four shots for the second straight game. His rebounding and shot-blocking rates are among the best in the league, so he's a no-brainer for me with how many minutes the Blazers are playing him these days and I won't be surprised if he goes over the 50 FanDuel point threshold again as he has in five of his last eight starts.
