DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/14/21)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for 10/14/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

We have a Thursday night DraftKings slate again! The NFL has taken over Thursday for long enough. Last week's Thursday games were good ones. Let's see if either one of these tilts will be.

We have Georgia State heading over to Mobile in a Fun Belt tilt. Memphis hosts a Navy team that is much better than they were at the beginning of the season. I'm not sure we can say that for Memphis, but we'll find out! One of those teams is going to have to play a different style than they are used to. This is going to be fun!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/14/21 locking at 7:30 pm eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Jake Bentley, South Alabama ($6,900)

The South Carolina transfer has supplanted a pretty good quarterback in Desmond Trotter. The results haven't been everything the Jaguars hoped for. Bentley only has four passing touchdowns on the season. Two of them were in the last game. That's a good sign, but Texas State is not a good team. Georgia Southern is going to get after Bentley. The silver lining is that the Eagles have allowed at least 300 passing yards in four of six games and haven't allowed less than 249. That includes Louisiana, who is mostly a running team and FCS Gardner-Webb. There are a ton of yards available for Bentley here and Georgia Southern has only picked off four passes all season. They were all in the same game, a game in which Arkansas State chucked 60 passes.

Justin Tomlin, Georgia Southern ($5,200)

Tomlin also runs a triple option attack, but he has attempted 77 passes on the season. There are more passing yards to be picked up than with a Navy quarterback. Tomlin isn't the runner that Lavatai is, but considering that the Eagles will likely be playing from behind again, I'll play this in the hopes that Tomlin can pick up some passing yards and a touchdown. Neither are guaranteed though. QB is pretty iffy on this slate aside from Bentley.

Also consider: Seth Henigan, Memphis ($8,500); Tai Lavatai, Navy ($6,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Brandon Thomas, Memphis ($6,500)

Thomas has good potential, but the Memphis coaching staff is using some tough love with the freshman. He fumbled against UTSA in a critical momentum, then fumbled again early against Temple. That resulted in him getting just four carries against Temple with Rodrigues Clark running well in that one. Thomas was back in the driver's seat last week against Tulsa with 18 carries and a pair of touchdowns. If Thomas were to fumble early on here, it could torpedo our lineups. That said, he's a strong option if he hangs onto the ball.

Gerald Green, Georgia Southern ($5,300)

The Eagles struggled on the ground against Troy, so all of the backs had underwhelming games compared to what they are used to. The Jaguars run defense looks solid on paper, but that is skewed by a Bowling Green team that only mustered nine yards on 19 carries and by FCS Alcorn State only picking up 32 yards on 31 carries. Southern Miss topped triple digits. Both Louisiana and Texas State went over 200 rushing yards on South Alabama. Things are looking great for the Georgia Southern triple option here and the backs that go along with it.

J.D. King, Georgia Southern ($3,400)

The Oklahoma State transfer is still working his way back from a knee injury and is listed as third on the depth chart. That doesn't matter as much in a triple option attack. King racked up 13 rushing touchdowns for the Eagles between 2019 and 2020. His strong performance against Arkansas State has him on my radar here, but he's a bit of a risk if this game stays close. The Eagles ride hot running backs and he's not passing Gerald Green anytime soon.

Also consider: AJ Phillips, South Alabama ($6,000); Isaac Ruoss, Navy ($4,900); Rodrigues Clark, Memphis ($3,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Calvin Austin III, Memphis ($9,300)

It could be hard for the Tigers to put up big offensive numbers when Navy controls the ball so well, but I'll take my chances with Austin. After all, the dude has topped 200 yards receiving twice already this year and has triple digits against every FBS team Memphis has played. When Hanigan throws, it's likely going to Austin. Only two other players have double digit receptions for the Tigers besides Austin.

Jalen Tolbert, South Alabama ($7,500)

Georgia Southern has the worst pass defense in FBS. This could be a monster day for Tolbert, who just might be the most talented receiver on this slate. He doesn't get the target share that Austin does, but this is a game where Tolbert could flirt with 200. He got his first touchdown of the season last week, which highlights how long it has taken Jake Bentley to get used to life in Mobile. If these two are finally on the same page, look out!

Caullin Lacy, South Alabama ($4,200)

Jake Bentley is going to be flying the friendly skies more than usual,  so I expect Lacy to put up some really good numbers here. Lacy only has two less receptions than Tolbert on the season, but most of his routes are under ten yards. There is a great floor for Lacy if you're using him as a punt, but it's Tolbert who is really going to rack up the chunk yardage. Jalen Wayne is worth a look as well to differentiate yourself in GPP's, but you likely wont need to go that low based on salary alone.

Also consider: Sean Dykes, Memphis ($5,600); Khaleb Hood, Georgia Southern ($4,400); Jalen Wayne, South Alabama ($4,000)
