MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (5/17/2026)
Michael Harris II OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+425, HardRock Bet)
This Braves team is loaded with power-hitting lefties. Drake Baldwin, Matt Olson, and Michael Harris II have all been killing it this season in the home run department. The big thing for this game is that they are going against Brayan Bello, who has been getting tormented by opposing lefties this season.
He has given up seven of his eight home runs to the LHH. That has led to some wild stats, including a .651 SLG, .301 ISO, 21.1% Barrel%, and a 46.5% HardHit%. He has been absolutely getting crushed this season, and this is not going to be a good matchup for him either.
I'm going with Michael Harris II because of his recent boost in exit velocity. Across the last five games against righties, Harris has been hitting the ball the hardest. He is averaging an exit velocity of 98 mph, with 8 of his last 15 batted balls resulting in an exit velocity of 100+.

On the season against righties, he is slugging .500 with an ISO of .199, a Barrel% of 20.5%, and a team leading 57.3% HardHit%. The biggest downside is the weather here; we are getting some wind blowing in. We might see that affect the game a little bit, but with the way Harris has been hitting the ball, this is a great spot for him to go yard here.
Yordan Alvarez OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+295, FanDuel)
I'm going right back to Yordan Alvarez. I got him right on Thursday against Luis Castillo, and now we have a great matchup once again as he goes up against Nathan Eovaldi. Alvarez has been solid this season all around against both sides of the plate. He has nine home runs against righties and six home runs against lefties.
Eovaldi has struggled immensely against LHH. The Astros run out a primarily right-handed lineup, and that really only leaves us with Alvarez and Zach Cole, who has also seen recent success. Eight of his ten home runs this season have come against lefties, and he has sported a .492 SLG, .221 ISO, 10.4% Barrel%, and a 48% HardHit%.
Alvarez is the perfect guy to take advantage of that; he has had a lot of success against Eovaldi in the past as well. He has 12 hits, including two home runs, in 20 ABs against him. That is just absurd. I try not to look into BvP too much, but this is just something I can't gloss over.
This season against righties, Alvarez is sporting a .643 SLG, .321 ISO, a 24.2% Barrel%, and a 55% HardHit%. It's hot in Houston, which should add a little boost to the ball as well. Alvarez is once again in a great spot, and I'll keep attacking it till the wheels fall off.
