Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Thursday 9/30

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 9/30/21. Dave Swan identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

With the conclusion of regular season baseball on Sunday, every decision is more critical in head-to-head leagues. Furthermore, for those in roto leagues, the streaming picks will be focus primarily on a player's categorical boost. Things can be very challenging at this time of the year. Fortunately, RotoBaller has you covered with daily fantasy baseball streaming picks.

Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in fantasy baseball daily leagues. Additionally, these recommendations can be helpful for fantasy managers setting MLB DFS lineups

We have a 12-game slate Thursday. Luckily, there are quite a few streamable players, with 24 teams taking the field. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from Yahoo! leagues.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 9/30 - Shallow Leagues

Bobby Dalbec (1B/3B, BOS) - 47% rostered

Matchup: @ LHP Alexander Wells

Dalbec is my streaming call of the day for HRs. He's been a much better hitter in the second half, hitting nearly 70 points higher and with much more power. Even better, there is a southpaw on the mound! That's where things get interesting. Dalbec features a .263 ISO vs. LHP, with 10 HRs in 183 ABs. In hitter-friendly Camden Yards, this is a no-brainer call.

Austin Hays (OF, BAL) - 46% rostered

Matchup: vs. RHP Nick Pivetta

I am not sure many realize that Hays has 22 HRs or 25 doubles on the season. What makes those numbers a bit shocking is a fact that Hays only has 470 ABs. Sure, his profile comes with a ton of swing-and-miss, but there is a fair amount of thump in his bat to make it worthwhile. Keep in mind; his matchup is against Nick Pivetta, who can get a bit wild and is no stranger to allowing HRs.

Amed Rosario (SS/OF, CLE) - 37% rostered

Matchup: @ LHP Angel Zerpa

You'll be hard-pressed to find anything on the wire with a better chance of stealing a base than Rosario. While he may only have 12 bases swiped, the Cleveland infielder comes with a 29.5 ft/sec sprint speed-which puts him in the 97th percentile among all players. Furthermore, as shown by the 11 HRs and stellar .282 batting average, he offers more than speed.

Enrique Hernandez (2B/SS/OF, BOS) - 47% rostered

Matchup: @ LHP Alexander Wells

First, the matchup plays right into Kike's hands. He should get the nod as the leadoff hitter. Next, he's been outstanding against southpaws(.314 BA, .844 OPS, and 33:12 K/BB ratio) in a little more than 170 plate appearances. Lastly, Boston is one of the highest projected teams on the slate, so expect him to be a terrific source of runs.

Evan Longoria (3B, SF) - 24% rostered

Matchup: vs. LHP Madison Bumgarner

At this point in the season, finding a middle-of-the-lineup bat from one of the more potent offenses in the MLB should be a crime. However, given Longoria's missed time due to injury, it is not unheard of. Even though Longoria has struck out 13 times in his last six games, there is something to like about his matchup. The 35-year-old can still smack LHP around, as shown by his .339/.474/.677 slash line with 1.152 OPS vs. southpaws.

Hitter Streamers for 9/30 - Deeper Leagues

Luis Arraez (2B/3B/OF, MIN) - 15% rostered

Matchup: vs. LHP Tarik Skubal

Are you searching for a bit of batting average? Insert Arraez! He will not help much in the power or speed categories, but he makes up for it with elite plate discipline skills and a solid hit tool. Additionally, he bats atop the Twins lineup. However, against southpaws, he tends to sit because of his drastic splits. Keep an eye out for a confirmed lineup before settling on Arraez for your playoff hopes.

Brandon Nimmo (OF, NYM) - 20% rostered

Matchup: vs. RHP Edward Cabrera

If you're nearly the end of your season in an OBP league, Nimmo is a must-add. He touts a fantastic eye and takes walks at a 14% rate. Even if you're looking for added runs or batting average, Nimmo is a must-add. The Mets utilize him against as the leadoff hitter any time a right-handed pitcher is on the mound. Against RHP, he's slashing .286/.385/.433 with a .818 OPS. Easy add for all categories besides HRs.

Matt Duffy (2B/3B, CHC) - 5% rostered

Matchup: @ RHP Miguel Yajure

Rarely do I like to side with players on a heater; however, it's the end of the regular season, and Duffy will get plenty of run with Patrick Wisdom on the shelf. He is riding an eight-game hitting streak that features a 13-for-35 stretch. This could help in the counting stat categories since the matchup is against a mediocre SP. However, I wouldn't count on him for power as PNC has profound dimensions and less than ideal fence heights.

Pitcher Streamers for 9/30 - Deeper Leagues

Nick Pivetta (SP, BOS) - 41% rostered

Matchup: @ Baltimore Orioles

At this point in the season, we are streaming for one thing-wins! That's where Pivetta becomes interesting; mainly due to his ability to go over five innings for a team that's the heavy favorite. His fastball command tends to get sporadic at times, leading to either too many walks or too many HRs. While neither is optimal, the matchup is one of the better on the slate. Against RHP in the last two weeks, Baltimore has an 86 wRC+ and K-rate north of 26%.

Alex Cobb (SP, LAA) - 26% rostered

Matchup: @ Texas Rangers

Cobb's two things worry me: 1) his fastball velocity is down a tick, and 2) the Angels are not a good offense. However, Cobb has been an effective starting pitcher, even since returning from the IL. He touts a 3.46 ERA and 3.78 SIERA through 88.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, there isn't much worse than Texas when we look at alarming offenses to target for streaming pitchers. In the previous two weeks vs. RHP, they carry a disastrous 70 wRC+ and .270 wOBA. Yikes!
