FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/14/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - Fantasy Baseball

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/14/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We have a giant 13-game slate for a Monday in MLB this year. However, we only have two of the 26 pitchers priced in five figures. Are either of them worth it? Where is the value to afford those behemoths? We'll check that out!

The only place that has a rain threat is Boston, but as of now, it looks like the game should play. The only place that has notable winds is in the Bay Area, but both of those parks are built so that the wind is never a huge advantage. On top of that, only three games have temperatures in the 90's at first pitch: Denver and the two Missouri games. Those should be the most favorable spots for hitters.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 6/14/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Lance Lynn – CWS vs. TB ($11,000)

Yes, I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop with Lynn too. There are many reasons to think that wont be today. Lynn has allowed one run or fewer in eight of his 11 starts. You can't really go wrong with him or Tyler Glasnow, but Lynn has a 1.26 ERA and 0.78 WHIP at home. I'm not messing with that with an offense that has struggled for much of the year. Glasnow is enough worse on the road that I'm leaning towards Lynn here, and the difference in strikeouts isn't as large as you might think.

Potential Alternate Play

Adam Wainwright – STL vs. MIA ($8,000)

Most of the Marlins were toddlers when Wainwright made his major league debut on September 11, 2005. Wainwright's home/road splits have always been pronounced, but this year they are massive. Wainwright has a 8.20 ERA on the road and 2.62 ERA at home. He has allowed more runs on the road this year than at home despite starting twice as many games at Busch Stadium. The Marlins are hitting just .222 on the road, but this offense is much better than they were a month ago, Still, I'll side with the veteran in the place he has called home for 16 years. Wainwright only made one appearance in old Busch Stadium, just like I did. The only difference was I was in the stands and allowed fewer runs.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – 1B/3B, TOR at BOS ($4,400)

This isn't so much about the opposing pitcher as it is the hitter. Vlad is 7-11 with a double, three homers, three walks, four runs, and seven RBI in just the first three games of this series in Boston. He even stole a base! No, this is about Vlad absolutely mashing the Red Sox pitching staff. All of them. For those of you at home, Vlad has 103.3 FanDuel points in the first three games of this series. That's not a point total. That's a radio station!

Cavan Biggio – 2B/3B, TOR at BOS ($2,500)

It says something for a lineup when a guy like Biggio is hitting sixth. He was struggling before landing on the IL on May 21, but in his three games back, Biggio is 6-12 with two doubles, two homers, three runs, and two RBI. I suppose now is a good time to tell you that both of his career hits against Nathan Eovaldi are home runs. Lock and load with Biggio at this price.

Ke'Bryan Hayes – 3B, PIT at WAS ($3,000)

Hayes has at least one hit in all nine of his games since returning from the IL on June 3. Considering the fact that he's facing Jon Lester, a guy he is 3-6 off of already, I like that streak to extend to ten games. Hayes is hitting .316 in that span with two homers, five RBI, and seven runs scored. It could be three homers, but that's another story. I'm all for attacking Lester tonight, and Hayes is the best way to do that.

Fernando Tatis Jr. – SS, SD at COL ($5,000)

Tatis has 19 homers already. Two of them are in the last two games. Now he goes to Coors to face a lefty and a dreadful bullpen. You have to punt pitcher to land on all three sons of former major league stars, but it might be worth it tonight.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Whit Merrifield– 2B/OF, KC vs. DET ($3,700)

I know, I know. BvP means almost nothing without a small sample size, but this isn't small. Merrifield has owned Matthew Boyd. In 60 career plate appearances against Boyd, Whit has 25 hits, three walks (good for a .483 OBP), a staggering 15 runs scored, eight RBI, and six steals for good measure. He may not get you a homer, but these kind of stats make him worth this price. If you need to go cheaper, Andrew Benintendi has hit Boyd very well too.

Justin Upton – OF, LAA at OAK ($3,500)

Upton batted leadoff for the first time in his career back on May 23. He picked up 12.7 FanDuel points against the A's in that game. Since then, Upton is hitting .333 with six homers and 13 RBI, not to mention the 20 runs scored. That's right. 20 runs in 18 games, including one in each of the last five games. Upton has only gone scoreless in DFS once in that span, and that was within the first week of moving to leadoff. He is also 6-18 with a homer against Sean Manaea in his career. Look for the hot streak to continue.

Dominic Smith – 1B/OF, NYM vs. CHC ($2,600)

It has been a rough go of it for Smith lately, but maybe Jake Arrieta can cure that. Smith is still priced high on DraftKings, but his FanDuel price is more indicative of recent performance. Still, this is the time to take advantage. Smith is still batting cleanup and he is 7-16(.438) lifetime against Arrieta with a homer and a pair of doubles.
