Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/4/17): MLB DFS Advice for FanDuel and DraftKings

We have a full slate of 15 games today for the holiday, and there are options all across the board. There are some good aces in favorable spots tonight, so if you are spending up on pitching, you have to find some value elsewhere. No real weather concerns, but check in on the wind for the NYY @ BAL, and PHI @ NYM games, should see strong winds blowing out.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/4/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider

Carlos Martinez, STL @ SDP (DK - $11,800, FD - $9,900)

Martinez is in a fantastic spot today, as he is up against the Padres who have the second worst strikeout rate in the league vs right-handed pitchers, sitting at 25%. The Padres not only strikeout a ton, they also have the worst offense in the league. I know, shocking to say the Padres are bad, but they have scored the least runs out of any team. This game being in San Diego, is another positive factor for Martinez, who comes into this with six or more strikeouts in four of his last five starts. We should see a bump in that number today, due to his match up. The Padres usually roll out a right-handed heavy lineup, which will play into the favor of Martinez, as he only allows a .262 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

Jose Berrios, MIN @ TAM (DK - $11,100, FD - $9,400)

Berrios is a young pitcher with a ton of hype behind him, as he has the potential to one day be an ace. He gets a nice pitcher friendly park shift going to Tampa tonight, and against the Rays who have a 24.7% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers. Berrios has put up nine or more strikeouts in two of his last three starts while only allowing three earned runs over that span. Berrios is allowing a .308 wOBA or lower to hitters on either side of the plate. Great option for either format today.

DFS Infielders to Consider

Welington Castillo - C, NYY vs BAL (DK - $3,500, FD - $3,300)

Castillo has four home runs in his last six games and this guys is hot. The power often comes in bunches for him, and the rest of the Baltimore offense, so he makes a great addition to a stack with them. While at home this season vs left-handed pitchers, he has a .581 wOBA and a .452 ISO. The guys crushes lefties at home, so load him up today.

Joey Votto - 1B, CIN vs MIL (DK - $5,000, FD - $4,400)

Being back at home, Votto gets a nice positive park shift, and comes into this game with hits in five of his last six games. While at home this season facing right-handed pitchers, Votto has a .463 wOBA and a .329 ISO. He is expensive, but a legit two home run upside isn't there on most players, so pay up for Votto.

Whit Merrifield - 2B, KAN @ DET (DK - $4,700, FD - $3,500)

Merrifield has hits in eight of his last 11 games, and is a good option for any format tonight. He has a .315 wOBA and a .164 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, while only striking out 14.7% of the time. Merrifield also has some stolen base upside, 26 on the year, which is great for tournaments.

Travis Shaw - 3B, MIL @ CIN (DK - $3,900, FD - $2,900)

Shaw is simply too cheap on both sites today, and yes, he has been struggling of late, but he still has a .381 wOBA and a .263 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers. This is a great hitters park, and for his price, you can put him in any lineup. he is up against a pitcher who is giving up a .366 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season.

Trevor Story - SS, COL vs SFG (DK - $3,900, FD - $3,600)

Story is generally one of the cheaper options in the Rockies lineup, but the man absolutely mashes lefty pitchers at home. This season he has a .492 wOBA and a .489 ISO when facing left-handed pitchers at home. Gets you some exposure to the game at Coors Field without having to pay up too much.

DFS Outfielders to Consider

Nick Williams - OF, PHI @ NYM (DK - $2,600, FD - $4,600)

Williams was the hot rookie in the beginning of the year for the Phillies, but now he is being overshadowed by Rhys Hoskinswho DTD with a hand injury, so time for Williams to step up. He is way too cheap on DraftKings today, as he has a .346 wOBA and a .214 ISO this season vs right-handed  pitchers. Not the best park for hitters, but for his price, you can play him anywhere.

Delino DeSheilds - OF, TEX @ ATL (DK - $3,900, FD - $3,400)

DeSheilds has hits in seven of his last eight games, and has a .312 wOBA with a .351 OBP vs right-handed pitchers this season. He bats high in the order for the Rangers, and with his stolen base potential, 28 on the season, he is good in all formats. Up against a pitcher who is giving up a .347 wOBA vs right-handed hitters.

Giancarlo Stanton - OF, MIA vs WAS (DK - $5,400, FD - $4,600)

Stanton is going for 60 homers this season, just bound to happen. He has put up a couple 0 fors in the past few days, but he has a .405 wOBA and a .344 ISO vs right-handed pitchers. If you can afford him, don't pass him up, as you can get a multi-home run game from him any time.
