Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (8/18/17): MLB DFS Advice for FanDuel and DraftKings

After a Thursday that was broken down into two small slates, we have a huge Friday slate. There is one early game, but the majority of contests focus around the slate that begins at 7 PM EST. That is what this article will focus around.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/18/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider

Max Scherzer - at SD (DK - $14,100, FD - $11,500)

Scherzer has been an elite pitcher this season. He brings a 12-5 record, 2.25 ERA, and 12.4 K/9. He gets a matchup against the Padres in San Diego, which is arguably the most pitcher friendly stadium in the MLB. Scherzer is a -196 favorite in a game set at only 7 runs, and he can safely be used in all leagues on this slate.

Drew Pomeranz - vs NYY (DK - $9,000, FD - $8,500)

Pomeranz has been enjoying a great season, but he has been at his best over his last 10 games. Over that span, he has a 6-0 record, 2.52 ERA, and 8.2 K/9. He has a K/9 over 9.0 on the season, though. He gets a matchup against the Yankees, and Pomeranz has thrown well against them in three games. He's a -134 favorite in a game set at 9 runs, and he's a great option tonight.

DFS Infielders to Consider

Max Stassi - C, vs OAK (DK - $2,800, FD - $2,000)

Stassi has only played in a couple games this season, but he has displayed elite upside. He's a powerful player that is hitting in one of the best offenses in the MLB. He gets a good matchup against Sean Manaea, and Stassi is an elite salary relief option on this slate.

Joey Gallo - 1B, vs CWS (DK - $5,200, FD - $4,000)

Gallo has been playing exceptionally well over his last 10 games. Over that span, he's hitting a bit under .300 with a slugging percentage over .850. In those games, he also has an OBP over .400. He has hit right-handed pitching well this season, and he gets a great matchup against James Shields, and Gallo can be used in all leagues on this slate.

Yoan Moncada - 2B, at TEX (DK - $3,300, FD - $2,800)

Moncada has struggled at times early in his career, but he has also displayed tremendous upside. He's a player that comes with good power, and he's hitting in an offense that has been playing extremely well recently. He also gets a good matchup against Andrew Cashner in a hitter friendly stadium, and Moncada is a great salary relief option in tournaments.

Adrian Beltre - 3B, vs CWS (DK - $5,000, FD - $4,500)

Beltre has been one of the hottest hitters in the MLB over his last 10 games. He is hitting over .400 with a slugging percentage over .800 in those games. He's also hitting over .350 at home this season with tremendous power. He gets a great matchup against James Shields, and there's no reason to avoid him tonight.

Amed Rosario - SS, vs MIA (DK - $3,300, FD - $2,400)

Rosario has been as advertised since joining the Mets, as he has been a fairly consistent option that also comes with good upside. He has hit left-handed pitching well early in his career, and he gets a great matchup against Justin Nicolino. He is still fairly cheap on both sites, and he can be used in all leagues as a salary relief option.

DFS Outfielders to Consider

Gerardo Parra - OF, vs MIL (DK - $5,100, FD - $3,800)

Parra has looked unstoppable in Colorado this season, as he's hitting over .400 with a slugging percentage well over .500 at home. He has also been a significantly better hitter against right-handed pitching, and he gets a great matchup against Matt Garza tonight. Parra makes a great option in all leagues.

Jarrett Parker - OF, vs PHI (DK - $3,600, FD - $2,400)

Parker has been a night and day player at home and on the road this season. Through limited games at home, Parker's average is nearing .400 as opposed to an average slightly over .100 on the road. He has also displayed great power at home, where over half of his hits this season have gone for extra-bases. He gets a great matchup against Zach Eflin, and Parker can be used in all leagues tonight.
