DraftKings Lineup Picks & Sleepers (5/15/17): MLB DFS Advice

The new week kicks off with a small slate of games, as there are just a total of eight scheduled for the day. DraftKings has four different contests groups for the night, with the first one starting at 6:10 with the Rays taking on the Indians. Of course, there are some night and late night contests to participate in as well. The following lineup targets could be used for both the eight-game and seven-game contests.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/15/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings.

You can read our FanDuel and Yahoo DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @barryleonardjr.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Toronto Blue Jays against Bartolo Colon

The Toronto Blue Jays have really struggled offensively this season and have not been a very enticing stacking option. However, with a small slate of games Monday, finding a team that most fantasy players will avoid, especially a cheap one, could pay off. Toronto will square off with the struggling Bartolo Colon. Time finally seems to have caught up with the veteran righty, as he currently sits with a 7.22 ERA and a 4-1 record. Colon was shelled for eight runs during his last outing and has allowed 23 earned runs over his last four starts. Both righties and lefties have enjoyed success against Colon this year, so any Blue Jay is in the mix for Monday's stack. Start with Kevin Pillar and Kendrys Morales and go from there.

Milwaukee Brewers against Luis Perdomo

This one will be both popular and expensive, but it's tough to fade the Brewers right now. All Milwaukee does is crush home runs and put up runs. A favorable matchup with Luis Perdomo awaits Monday. The right-hander has yet to pick up a win this season and has an ERA of 4.13. Lefties have crushed Perdomo this year to the tune of a .409 average, so start your stack with Eric Thames, Travis Shaw (if Sunday's injury doesn't force him out of the lineup), and the switch-hitting Jonathan Villar.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Brandon McCarthy LAD at SFG ($9,100)

Brandon McCarthy will make his return from the 10-day disabled list Monday in a favorable matchup with the struggling Giants. McCarthy is 3-0 on the year with a 3.10 ERA. The fact that he struggled at AT&T Park last year, and the .357 lifetime average that current San Francisco hitters have against him will likely keep most people away from McCarthy -- making him an even better pick for tournaments. San Francisco has struggled to hit this season, so McCarthy has a great chance to right the ship against the division rivals.

Zack Godley, ARI vs. NYM ($6,300)

Arizona's Zack Godley makes a lot of sense for daily lineups Monday night. Finding the right pitcher is even more difficult when there's a smaller slate of games, but Godley's lower price and sleeper status make him a great option. The right-hander has made just two starts this year, but has posted a record of 1-0 with an ERA of 2.25 and 12 strikeouts. New York will likely go with a heavy left-handed lineup against Godley, but he has held lefties to an average of .250 this year. Backed by a potent offense, Godley offers great value and has an excellent opportunity at recoding a win Monday.

Also consider: Carlos Carrasco, CLE vs TB ($11,300); Chase Anderson, MIL at SD ($6,800)

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Yasmani Grandal, LAD at SF ($3,500)

Yasmani Grandal had a three-hit game Sunday and extended his hit streak to eight games. At a position that typically offers a lot of value, Grandal is an excellent pick Monday. With a season average of .292 and mark of .324 against right-handers, the Los Angeles catcher is as good an option as any at the position.

Also consider: J.T. Realmuto, MIA vs. HOU ($3,400)

First Base (1B)

Paul Goldschmidt, ARI vs. NYM ($5,200)

Goldie was smashing the ball this past weekend and is deservedly the most expensive first baseman on the board for Monday's contests. He's hitting .314 on the year with 10 home runs and smacking one on Saturday and two Sunday. Goldschmidt is an elite talent when it comes to power, so the home run threat is always there. You'll find plenty of value tonight, so spend big on the slugging first baseman.

Also consider: Freddie Freeman, ATL at TOR ($4,900)

Second Base (2B)

Danny Espinosa, LAA vs. CHW ($3,000)

The fact that Danny Espinosa has a batting average less than .200 will keep most away, but if you're looking for cheap production from a super sleeper don't overlook Espinosa Monday. He snapped an 11-game hitless streak Saturday by recording a double and cracked a home run Sunday. Although it's a small sample size, Espinosa has been good (6-for-13 with a home run) in his career against opposing starter Mike Pelfrey. Espinosa isn't the most intriguing option, but he should be used as a deep sleeper in tournament formats.

Also consider: Jed Lowrie, OAK at SEA ($3,600)

Third Base (3B)

Jake Lamb, ARI vs. NYM ($)

With value elsewhere you'll be able to spend on Jake Lamb today. The Arizona slugger enters Monday with a four-game hit streak, including a three-hit performance Sunday. An inviting matchup with righty Zack Wheeler awaits him Monday. The left-handed Lamb has registered a .312 average with six of his seven homers coming off of righties. Lamb is a good bet to rack up some hits and RBI Monday.

Also consider: Alex Bregman, HOU at MIA ($3,800)

Shortstop (SS)

Carlos Correa, HOU at MIA ($4,900)

The most expensive shortstop, Correa is well worth the high price. He's got an average near .300 and has been able to rack up nearly 10 fantasy points a game. He'll carry a six-game hit streak into Monday  and is hitting near .400 over the last week. With the ability to hit for average, driving in runs, and go deep, Correa is one of the top shortstop options on a nightly basis.

Also consider: Jean Segura, SEA vs. OAK ($4,400)

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Nick Markakis, ATL at TOR ($3,400)

Nick Markakis isn't a name that usually jumps out anymore to fantasy owners, but he has become a very reliable option, particularly against right-handers. Markakis has an average of .302 against righties this season, so Monday's matchup with Mike Bolsinger is a good one. Markakis isn't a flashy option, but a very smart one when considering his price and production.

Ezequiel Carrera, TOR vs. ATL ($3,700)

Ezequiel Carrera isn't always in the lineup, but the lefty should play Monday with the right-handed Bartolo Colon on the mound. As mentioned above, the Blue Jays make for a great lineup stack, and Carrera needs to be selected. He's hitting .333 with three homers this year and has fared extremely well against righties, hitting .337. He went hitless in his last game, but is batting .417 over the last week. Carrera is a cheap option that offers plenty of upside with the right matchup.

Mike Trout, LAA vs. CHW ($5,400)

Mike Trout hit his third straight home run Sunday and is up to 11 for the year. Aside from the long balls, he has been getting on base at an excellent clip, slashing .352/.449/.738 so far this season. Choosing some of the above sleepers will allow you plenty of room to afford the most expensive outfielder. He'll enter Monday with three straight games of double-digit fantasy points and will look to keep the streak going.

Also consider:Denard Span, SFG vs. LAD ($3,800), Jose Bautista, TOR vs. ATL ($4,400), Josh Reddick, HOU at MIA ($3,400)
