DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (7/20/16): MLB DFS Advice

What better way is there to get through the middle of the work week than by playing in some afternoon baseball contests on DraftKings? With eight games in the afternoon slate, there will be plenty of lineup options to choose from.

Some top name pitchers are available, but it will be tough to fit two into your lineup. Choosing the right top pitcher along with a value pitcher will be the name of the game today.

Editor's Note: RotoBaller has the best Premium MLB Subscription for only $1.99 per week. We have all the tools to help win your seasonal and daily leagues: Hitter & Pitcher Streamers, Matchup Ratings for every player, Sleeper Surgers for AVG, HR, Ks, PLUS Daily DFS Cheat Sheets, Lineup Picks, Expert Lineups, Stacks and Avoids.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/20/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Colorado Rockies vs. Chris Archer (RHP)

This one is almost a no-brainer, as any team playing at Coors is a good bet. Chris Archer has not lived up to the lofty expectations this season. In fact, he has really struggled, putting up a record of 4-13 with an ERA of 4.68. Archer has a 6.75 ERA on the road, and that number will likely rise today. Colorado Lefties Charlie Blackmon and Carlos Gonzalez stand out as obvious choices to start a lineup chat with. Those choices will give you a big hit to your salary cap, so you can counteract that by adding Daniel Descaiso and Cristhian Adames to your stack.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Patrick Corbin (LHP)

The Blue Jays are in a good spot for a stack today against Patrick Corbin. He's got a 5.25 ERA and has given up a total of nine runs in his last two starts. Righties are hitting .283 against him, putting guys like Darwin Barney, Josh Donaldson, Kevin Pillar, and Troy Tulowitzki in play for a stack. Overall, current Toronto hitters are hitting .340 against him.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Carlos Carrasco, CLE at KC - $10,400

Cleveland has been a big surprise, due in large part to the fantastic play of its pitching staff. Carlos Carrasco is 6-3 on the season with a 2.49 ERA. He has won four of his last five starts and hasn't allowed more than two earned runs since June 19. He lost to Kansas City on June 13, but allowed just two runs with eight strikeouts. On a day where there are not many good pitching matchups, Carrasco makes for a good start against the Royals.

Jeremy Hellickson, MIA at PHI- $7,500

This one is going out on a limb a bit, but if you don't want to pair Carrasco with another top money pitcher today, Hellickson is a sneaky option. He's a good pitcher stuck on a bad team, but he might find himself on a contender very soon. For the time being he will take the mound for the Phillies today. He has been good at times this season and picked up a win over Miami on May 18, allowing just two runs while striking out four in six innings of work.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Sandy Leon, BOS vs. SF - $3,200

Leon has been on fire for the month of July, hitting over .400. He had a four-game hit streak end last night, but is still worth a start in daily lineups today. He's averaging eight fantasy points a game and has twice put up at least 10 fantasy points in the last three games. His price will allow you to spend bigger at other positions.

First Base (1B)

Mike Napoli, CLE @ KC - $4,000

Napoli has shown up as a daily fantasy target fairly often this season, and for good reason. He's averaging over nine fantasy points a game and has really flourished in the middle of the Cleveland outfield. He went yard last night for the second time in three games and extended his hit streak to eight games. Napoli has just one hit in eight at-bats in his career against Ian Kennedy, but that one hit happened to be a home run. He's moderately priced, but the production could play a big part in helping your lineup to finish in the money.

Second Base (2B)

Yangervis Solarte SD at STL- $4,900

Solarte has been a nice surprise this season for both the Padres and his fantasy owners. Today he will be hitting from the right side of the plate with southpaw Jaime Garcia on the mound. That makes Solarte one to target considering how well he's fared against lefties this season (.362). With two double-digit fantasy games in the last two games, Solarte could be a good source of production today.

Shortstop (SS)

Troy Tulowitzki, TOR at ARI -$4,000

Tulo has been struggling this season, sitting with an average below .250. However, he has a five-game hit streak entering today and has started to show signs of life recently, batting .328 in July. He's faced today's starter, Patrick Corbin, more than anyone on the team and has a lifetime .429 average against him. Tulowitzki is averaging 7.7 fantasy points a game, so he's more than capable of producing for daily lineups.

Third Base (3B)

Luis Valbuena, HOU at OAK - $4,200

Valbuena isn't the most consistent player available, but he definitely holds value in daily leagues when the matchup is right. Today he gets a favorable lefty-righty matchup with Daniel Mengden. Mengden has a 6.75 ERA against left-handed hitters, setting up Valbuena for a potential good day, especially considering he has two double-digit fantasy points games in the last three contests.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Seth Smith, SEA vs. CWS - $4,100

Smith is having a career season, currently batting over his career .264 average. He has been a surprisingly good fantasy player, averaging over 6.5 points a game. Smith is hitting .300 at home this season and has a .282 average versus righties, compared to just .182 against southpaws. Take advantage of today's matchup with righty Miguel Gonzalez.

Angel Pagan, SF at BOS- $3,300

Pagan has become a very reliable source a fantasy points for his owners. Averaging 7.5 points a game, Pagan hits second in San Francisco's lineup and can get extra-base hits, stolen bases, and home runs. he picked up two hits in last night's game and has raised his season average to .289.

Howie Kendrick, LAD at WAS - $4,200

Kendrick gets to go up against the left-handed Gio Gonzalez, who's struggling with a 4.94 ERA against right-handed hitters. Kendrick has heated up, hitting .418 in July and enters today with an 11-game hit streak. He's been a very solid fantasy player this season and is once again a good target for today.
