Recent Update

5/9:Washington Nationals starter Jeremy Hellickson nearly no-hit the Padres on Tuesday, four days after they were no-hit by a quartet of Dodgers pitchers. But Hellickson immediately got into trouble when he began to go through the lineup a third time, as leadoff hitter Travis Jankowski laced a single. A second and last hit, a double by Franchy Cordero, signaled the end of the impressive night for Hellickson. He ended the night needing only 91 pitches to get eight strikeouts and walked no one in 7 2/3 innings. It was by far his longest outing since joining the club. Hellickson is only two years removed from being the ace of the Phillies and this performance will have owners scrambling to claim him off the wire. But he'll have his hands full with the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Sunday and should only be deployed against weaker lineups for the time being.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
