Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Mike Washington Jr., Las Vegas Raiders
It isn't clear if Las Vegas Raiders running back Mike Washington Jr. (foot/back) will have an impact in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams. Washington is listed as questionable after being limited in practices throughout the week, which could halt the progress he has made in taking on more work.
He had nine carries for 43 yards in a Week 6 loss to the Buffalo Bills, continuing to take on more responsibility while Ashton Jeanty battles injuries on his end. Jeanty is expected to shoulder the ground game in against Los Angeles, but Washington hasn't been completely ruled out yet. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on Washington's status into Saturday.
Dontayvion Wicks, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) was not spotted at Friday's practice ahead of Monday night's Week 7 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. He sat out Thursday too, coming off two catches for 24 yards on four targets against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.
That follows 19 receptions for 284 yards and one touchdown through six games, a modest line for a receiver who may not have a status until after most fantasy lineups lock. DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dallas Goedert (knee) have also missed both practices this week, so Philadelphia's receiving group is short-handed. Saturday's practice status will matter, but even if Wicks plays, he is hard to trust.
Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard should continue his consistent dominance when his team faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7. Hubbard had 28 carries for 120 yards and one touchdown in a Week 6 win against the Philadelphia Eagles, bringing him to 89 carries for 426 yards and four touchdowns, with an additional 11 catches for 85 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
With teammate Jonathon Brooks (core) still on the mend, Hubbard's heavy workload should continue. The Bucs have excelled at containing the run this season, allowing just 75.5 yards per game on the ground. However, it's highly unlikely any of that impacts the 27-year-old's workload or production. Hubbard is a must-start across fantasy formats.
Konata Mumpfield, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Konata Mumpfield is likely going to have an expanded role in the offense going forward. Fellow wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) is set to miss about two months of action due to a ruptured left hamstring.
His absence will likely mean that Mumpfield moves into the No. 2 role in the receiving room. Mumpfield has mostly been quiet this season outside of a four-catch performance where he notched 93 receiving yards in Week 3.
Fantasy managers in deep leagues that are looking for help should consider adding Mumpfield with Adams sidelined for the foreseeable future. His value could further soar if Puka Nacua is unable to suit up, as he is currently listed as questionable.
Ted Hurst III, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Ted Hurst III could see a larger role in the offense this weekend. Top wideout Emeka Egbuka (foot, concussion) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. His absence should mean that Hurst moves into the No. 2 role in this offense. This past weekend, Hurst hauled in three of his six targets for 40 yards in the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The rookie wideout should also see a boost in value with quarterback Baker Mayfield (thumb) making his return to the field. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect too much, but Hurst could be a flex play in deep leagues this weekend.
Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty needs a bounce-back week, and he will take on another heavy workload in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams. His efficiency has gone down since the second week of the season, and he is averaging just 2.8 yards per carry. But with backup RB Mike Washington Jr. (foot/back) listed as questionable, Jeanty could assume full responsibility for the ground game.
The former Boise State product posted a season-low 22 yards on 10 carries in Week 6, although he did score his first touchdown of the season. The Rams have struggled to contain the run this season, which Jeanty could use to his advantage. Still, his decrease in efficiency makes him a low-end RB2 ahead of this Week 7 matchup.
