Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton had 12 carries for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's shocking 26-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The 23-year-old was a non-factor in the passing game and had zero targets out of the backfield.
Hampton started the game with a nine-yard rushing touchdown to cap off a 77-yard drive. However, he went from hero to zero on the next drive after fumbling the football that led to a Cardinals field goal. In a favorable matchup, Hampton only garnered 9.3 fantasy points and will likely finish outside the top 30 running backs in PPR leagues. Hampton will look to bounce back next week at home against a Las Vegas Raiders defense that only allowed 74 rushing yards in their home opener.
George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens entered 2026 with massive expectations, but met none of them in Week 1. He was targeted six times, hauling in three passes for 26 yards. He was quiet even against one of 2025's worst NFL defenses, especially against the pass.
Pickens may need some time to get going, but the entire offense looked sluggish in what should have been an easy matchup. A dominant 2025 gave way to a flop for Pickens in Week 1. Nobody really did much, though. Dallas possessed the ball only two times in the second half, and scored touchdowns on both drives.
Their defense struggled mightily, though, with Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart effectively able to move the ball and grind the clock down. Pickens' uncharacteristic drop in the first quarter punctuated a night he hopes to forget before Week 2, when Dallas faces another divisional rival in the Washington Commanders.
Rashid Shaheed, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed gave fantasy managers almost nothing in Week 1, catching one pass for four yards in a 13-10 win over New England. The night changed quickly when Sam Darnold injured his hip on Seattle's opening possession, and Drew Lock took over, but Shaheed's disappearing act still can't be ignored.
It does create an interesting waiver window. Seattle traded fourth- and fifth-round picks for Shaheed last November, signed him to a multi-year deal in March, and spent the summer discussing a larger offensive role after he caught only 15 passes for 188 yards in nine games with the team last season.
That role certainly didn't show up in the opener. Darnold is also expected to miss Week 2, leaving Lock likely to start at Arizona and adding another layer of uncertainty. Shaheed remains one of the league's better big-play threats, though, and Seattle has invested enough in him to warrant patience. He is worth stashing in 12-team leagues, but he shouldn't be treated as a priority claim or trusted in Week 2 lineups yet.
Tyler Allgeier, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier has solidified himself as an intriguing fantasy football option for the next few weeks. Allgeier led the backfield in touches on Sunday, logging six more carries than Jeremiyah Love. He was less efficient than Love, and the rookie vulture a touchdown from him. However, we saw that he can handle a workload of 17-20 touches as the Cardinals gradually phase Love into the offense. We expect to see a similar backfield split again in Week 2, leaving Allgeier in the RB3 range for fantasy football.
He has a little bit of PPR upside after catching two passes on Sunday, and his 17-carry workload suggests that he could've gotten some touchdown opportunities in Week 1 if things had fallen into place a little differently. A matchup against the Seahawks' defense is never easy, but we like Allgeier's odds to play a steady role for all four quarters in a projected close game.
Kayshon Boutte, Houston Texans
Houston Texans wide receiver Kayshon Boutte had just one catch in his Texans debut last week against the Bills, but he may need to take on a much larger workload moving forward if Nico Collins (hamstring) is limited or unable to play. Collins picked up the injury in Wednesday's practice, and his status is "in jeopardy" for Week 2, even though the injury isn't considered to be serious. Boutte played 46% of snaps in Week 1, the third-highest mark of all receivers for the Texans, but he only got two targets.
Collins had 10 targets in Week 1, and Boutte could pick up some of that work if Collins is forced to miss time. He remains a deep option that is a boom-or-bust producer, but more chances could result in a quicker incorporation into Houston's passing offense. Keep an eye on Collins' status for this week, and if he's unable to play, Boutte would become a very intriguing, high-upside sleeper to consider.
