Miami Marlins starting pitcher Eury Perez looks to have a breakout campaign in 2026 after returning to the Marlins rotation in June of 2025 after suffering a season-ending elbow injury in March of 2024. Upon his return, he logged 95 1/3 innings (20 starts) in 2025 and had a 4.25 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 105 strikeouts. Perez is widely regarded as a top pitching prospect, and at 22, he now has two MLB seasons under his belt: 2023 and 2025. There is a lot to like with Perez; he has an elite average fastball velocity (97.9 mph) and has excellent swing and miss stuff, which is evident by his 13.3 SwStr percentage, 27.3 percent strikeout rate, and 28.4 percent whiff rate. His underlying numbers show signs of positive regression: a 3.23 xERA, 3.80 SIERA, and 4.07 xFIP, all below his actual ERA. While there is good, there are some areas to improve, as he allows a 46.5 percent hard-hit rate (eighth percentile), and only generated a 31.4 percent groundball rate (sixth percentile). Nonetheless, Perez is a rising star in the game and is currently being drafted as the 23rd starting pitcher according to RotoBallers rankings and 94th overall according to NFBC ADP.
