Ashton Jeanty Set for Another Top-Tier Performance in Week 17
Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty is riding high after his 188 scrimmage yards and two-touchdown performance against the robust Houston Texans in Week 16 and is primed to carry fantasy managers to victory against the New York Giants in Week 17. The rookie saw a season-high 24 rushing attempts in Week 16, and he became just the second player this season to rush for over 100 yards against Houston, joining Buffalo Bills running back James Cook, who logged 116 yards in Week 12. Jeanty did, however, see a dip in his pass game participation with just two targets, his lowest since Week 7, but turned one of those opportunities into an electric 60-yard receiving touchdown in the third quarter. Importantly, the rookie out of Boise State seemed to regain his role as an every-down back, playing 93% of third downs in Week 16, up from 42% in Week 15. With fellow running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) tending to injuries, Jeanty almost certainly will continue his workhorse role against the Giants in Week 17, whose defense is a top-three matchup for opposing running backs. Fantasy managers should feel confident in starting Jeanty in Week 17 in all formats, and he profiles as a mid-to-low-end RB1 in Championship Week.
