Will TreVeyon Henderson play in Week 17 for fantasy football? Is TreVeyon Henderson injured or hurt heading into Week 17 of 2025? Read the latest TreVeyon Henderson injury report.
In their first season under new head coach Mike Vrabel, the Patriots are back in the postseason and still in the race for the AFC East and the top seed in the AFC, which would earn them a bye week in the playoffs. One of the keys to their success has been the emergence of rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson, who took on a starring role while his backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson was hurt earlier this season.
Henderson has been dealing with his own injury in his preparations for Week 17, though, and his status for this weekend is still up in the air. With a great matchup on the road in New York, whoever the Patriots' running back is will have a high ceiling, so his injury is definitely worth watching heading into the final Sunday of 2025.
So what's Henderson's status for Week 17, and will he play? Read the latest Henderson injury news and fantasy outlook below.

TreVeyon Henderson Fantasy Football Injury Update
Henderson left his team's Sunday Night Football matchup against the Ravens in Week 16 after a hard tackle in the second quarter. While the play was a relatively non-descript one-yard run, Henderson's head hit the turf with enough force that he needed to be evaluated for a concussion.

Ultimately, he was unable to return, and he was placed in the NFL Concussion Protocol.
Is TreVeyon Henderson Playing in Week 17?
It's still uncertain if Henderson will play against the Jets this week. Henderson was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and was estimated to be a limited participant again on Thursday, as he works his way back to full strength.
If he can turn in a full practice on Friday, he could still suit up against the Jets, but it also would make sense for the Patriots to play it safe with their young running back, since they will have postseason games just around the corner.
The Patriots could also be missing other key pieces of their offense at receiver, which could lead to a big workload for Henderson, Stevenson, or both in a favorable matchup on Sunday.

TreVeyon Henderson Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 17
Henderson tore the Jets apart in Week 11, running for 62 yards on 16 carries and catching five passes for 31 more yards and scoring a total of three touchdowns in that Thursday Night Football matchup at Foxboro. He played that game without Stevenson just a week after going off for his monster game against the Bucs.

The Jets have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs in the NFL this season. Opposing RBs have totaled 23 touchdowns in 15 games while producing 102.2 rushing yards and 31.1 receiving yards per game.
If Henderson is ready for the rematch, he should be poised for another big game and would be a strong flex play with RB2 upside. Given the matchup and his big-play ability, he deserves to be in most lineups if he's available.
If Henderson doesn't clear the protocol or the team opts to hold him out, Stevenson would be set up as a workhorse back and also be a strong starting option. Even with Henderson's early exit last week, Stevenson was the only other running back with a carry, while D'Ernest Johnson was limited to just one offensive snap. If Stevenson gets that much work against the Jets' struggling defense, he should also be a strong RB2 this week, so be sure to get him in your lineup if Henderson is unable to clear protocol in time.
