Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups - Wan'Dale Robinson, Romeo Doubs, Darnell Mooney Fantasy Football Outlooks

Wan'Dale Robinson - Fantasy Football Pickups, Waiver Wire Sleepers, Draft Rankings

Week 8 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Wan'Dale Robinson, Romeo Doubs, Darnell Mooney in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

If you already looked ahead to your Week 8 lineup and saw a plethora of holes at wide receiver, you aren't alone.

Three top-five fantasy football wide receivers (Puka Nacua, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Amon-Ra St. Brown) are part of three of the six teams taking their bye in Week 8. Add in various injuries, and fantasy managers will be navigating the waiver wire this week.

So, should fantasy managers add Wan'Dale Robinson, Romeo Doubs, or Darnell Mooney in Week 8? Let's dive in and find out.

Wan'Dale Robinson Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 67% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

A 5'8", 185-pound wide receiver doesn't typically profile as a team's top option. With Malik Nabers (ACL) sidelined for the rest of the season, Robinson has stepped into that role.

The diminutive receiver is averaging 13.1 PPR fantasy points per game. In a smaller sample size, he's posting 14.7 points per game in contests without Nabers and with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart under center. That includes a 15.5 point performance against the Denver Broncos last week, one of the best defenses against wide receivers in the NFL.

What is bad for the Giants is good for fantasy football. With Darius Slayton (hamstring) also out of the lineup, Dart has no other viable wide receivers to throw to. Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Beaux Collins, and Jalin Hyatt combined for four targets on Sunday. They didn't catch any of them. Robinson was the only New York wide receiver to catch a pass against Denver.

While it hasn't been that dramatic in other games, Dart has leaned heavily on Robinson and his two tight ends: Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger. With Dart playing good football (in fantasy and real life), there are plenty of high-quality targets to go around. Robinson is seeing 8.6 of those targets per game over the last three weeks.

That makes Robinson, at worst, a weekly flex option. In full PPR leagues, he can be considered a WR2. Unfortunately, he's already rostered in over two-thirds of leagues, but all fantasy managers should take a peek at the waiver wire to see if he's available.

Romeo Doubs Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 68% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12+ leagues

Will the eventual returns of Christian Watson (knee) and Jayden Reed (collarbone) dilute the Green Bay passing attack?

That's the concern with Doubs, who is currently leading Green Bay pass-catchers in receptions (24) and is tied with tight end Tucker Kraft atop the board for touchdowns (four). Rookie first-round pick Matthew Golden hasn't lived up to expectations, so Doubs has been the clear WR1 for Jordan Love throughout the first third of the season.

But we've seen this story before. Doubs becomes a viable fantasy football starter when one or more wide receivers are out of the lineup. The fourth-year player has earned at least eight targets in each of his last three games and hit the double-digit PPR mark in all of them, including the three-touchdown bonanza against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. But, often, he disappears.

Watson is getting close to making his season debut after tearing his ACL in January. Reed, however, doesn't have a timetable yet.

Regardless, Green Bay is a run-first offense and relies on Josh Jacobs and its defense to win football games. Doubs isn't typically a high-volume guy, and can give fantasy managers 60 yards and a touchdown just as easily as two catches for 20 yards.

Still, there are far worse options out there for when fantasy managers look to fill injury and bye-related holes in their starting lineups. Doubs can be plugged in as a flex when the Packers travel to Pittsburgh in Week 8. His rest-of-season outlook isn't as clear.

Darnell Mooney Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 29% of Leagues

Baller Move: Consider in 12-Team Leagues

Darnell Mooney may be more of a fantasy football nuisance than an asset. When he's active and plays the entire game, he significantly hinders Drake London's production.

Drake London Stats Rec.  Yards  TDs  Points Per
Game (PPR)
Games with Mooney
(Weeks 2, 3, and 7)
12 146 0 8.2
Games without Mooney*
(Weeks 1, 4, and 6)
26 323 2 23.4

*Mooney left Week 4 with an injury

Mooney himself hasn't made a mark in his three healthy games, totaling nine receptions for 132 yards in those contests. His most noteworthy effort came Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers (three catches for 68 yards). That's still under the double-digit PPR mark.

The reality is that Mooney is, at best, the fourth option in Atlanta's attack. The offense primarily runs through Bijan Robinson. Then comes London, followed by tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. One could even argue that backup running back Tyler Allgeier is more integral to the Falcons' weekly game plan.

That's not to say Mooney won't have his moments. He's no stranger to fantasy football rosters and nearly had 1,000 yards in this offense last season. And, with the bye weeks and injuries aplenty, some fantasy managers will look in his direction.

For the immediate future, however, Mooney may not be the smartest addition. The Falcons draw the Miami Dolphins in Week 8, who are allowing nearly 160 rush yards per game. The Falcons, as already stated, lean on the running game and average the fourth-most rushing yards per game on offense. Atlanta may not need to dial up many passing plays to walk away with a win.
