Is Chris Godwin, Jaylen Warren, Chuba Hubbard playing today or injured? Week 4 fantasy football injury updates for Chris Godwin, Jaylen Warren, Chuba Hubbard.
The never-ending carousel (though not a happy one) of injuries in the NFL is inevitable. Among all the guarantees of playing football, that of some kind of damage to the body being incurred is unavoidable.
The NFL is a rough-and-tumble game of falls, collisions, twists, and contortions that put massive strains on players' muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons. It's certainly not healthy.
For fantasy football managers, this week it will be important to ask: are three injured players, Jaylen Warren (knee), Chuba Hubbard (calf), or Chris Godwin (ankle) playing this week?

Is Jaylen Warren Playing In Week 4?
UPDATE: Jaylen Warren is officially OUT. Kenneth Gainwell should be expected to handle RB1 duties.
Warren is expected to take the field in Week 4. The bigger question is how his workload will be affected by his knee injury. Apparently, it's not super serious, though. The Steelers have struggled on offense this season, and they'll certainly need their starter to beat the Minnesota Vikings.
The Jaylen Warren stats from Sunday 😂
18 carries
47 yards
2.6 yards per carry
56 yards after contact
3.11 yards after contact per attempt9 forced missed tackles. NINE! Most in the NFL in Week 3. 2nd most by a RB in a game this season.
Has absolutely no shot in this scheme.

Of course, it's possible he'll eventually be ruled out, but it seems unlikely. With that out of the way, we can consider just how bad his situation is in Pittsburgh. It might not even be worth starting him if he does play, but he should be available.
As for the question of starting him, I would only recommend you do so in deep leagues.
Is Chuba Hubbard Playing In Week 4?
Hubbard is also expected not to miss any time. He's dealing with an unspecified calf issue. Fantasy managers who drafted San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey might have flashbacks every time they see one of their starting RBs with a calf issue.
But there are plenty of calf problems that aren't really just their team's coaching staff hiding a much more serious injury, like bilateral Achilles tendonitis. I'll bring up something below that might be important, though, but DON'T PANIC! It's an injury from LAST SEASON, not this year.

As a reminder, Hubbard is NOT being placed on injured reserve this season. The above post, though, shows that a calf issue put him on injured reserve late last season. It could be that Hubbard is dealing with a long-term issue.
While that might be a problem moving forward, we won't know unless it happens. For now, he should be started as normal.
Is Chris Godwin Playing In Week 4?
Despite previous reports about Godwin's return being pessimistic, he's finally slated to make his return in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was originally reported to be likely to miss up to five weeks, if not more, so this is positive news.
Godwin suffered a dislocated ankle in Week 7 of last season, so he's had around 11 months to recover from his injury after his surgery. There's always the chance he has a bad warmup and has to be ruled out, and his recovery seems to be ahead of schedule.

We just have to trust the reports for now and act as if he won't miss the game. That being said, his role is likely to be limited, as it's his first game back from a major season-ending injury. We could see him have strictly capped reps and not play more than around 60 percent of offensive snaps.
But this should help avoid further injury, which is a good thing.
