Although Ross Chastain started eighth and finished ninth in yesterday's Loudon race, he lost ground in the NASCAR playoff race as Joey Logano dominated the first half of the race from the pole and scored 19 stage points while Chastain failed to score points in either stage. After finishing 12th in Stage 1, he fell as low as 20th in Stage 2 before making some progress by avoiding attrition in that stage and taking two tires on a mid-race pit stop. At the start of Stage 3, he reentered the top ten and remained there for the rest of the race, but Logano's hefty points payday and Chastain's lack of playoff points this season caused Chastain to fall 12 points below the playoff cutline in ninth.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
