DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Brandon Sproat, NYM at CIN ($5.9K DK/$8K FD)

There are some elite pitchers on the mound in today's slate, but they are all in tough matchups. Hunter Greene has the Mets, Max Fried has the Blue Jays, and Sonny Gray has the Giants! I'm actually going to be spending down on a couple of pitchers, who I see could put up some decent numbers compared to what they are priced at. Brandon Sproat will look to make his debut here against the Reds.

Sproat is still only in his second season, but has impressed the Mets enough to earn a start while Kodai Senga works on some things in the minors. If he performs, though, he could see himself as a staple in this rotation that has plenty of issues. In his last 10 starts, he has a 2.44 ERA and has an impressive 70:21 K:BB. He has had no problem going deep into games either, with going seven innings twice and six innings three more times.

The only downside is that he is playing in the very hitter-friendly park in Cincinnati. Lucky for us, the Reds have been pretty mediocre across the last two weeks with a wRC+ of 92 and a team wOBA of .310. They also have a very high K% of 25.7%. If the Mets allow him to go deeper in this game, we could be looking at some great value out of Sproat!

Kai-Wei Teng, SFG at STL ($5.5K DK/$6.8K FD)

This one is a bit of a risk, but I like the spot Kai-Wei Teng is in for this one. He went into a tough Coors Field and pitched extremely well, nearly getting the Quality Start while giving up only two runs. He has slowly seen his pitch count climb across his five starts, and with a good matchup against the Cardinals in this one. It is worth a shot to take on him.

The Cardinals have been one of the worst teams in the league across the last two weeks with a wRC+ of 69 against RHP. They also, as a team, have posted a very low wOBA of .266 and a SLG of .343. Teng has also come into a bit of bad luck as his ERA shows 7.23, but his xERA has him at 3.72, which is significantly better than what he has posted.

He is due for a bit of good luck, and I think with him going up against the Cardinals in this spot, he should be able to get the job done here. On top of that, the Giants have been one of the best hitting teams in the league across the last two weeks, so if he can keep them ahead, he might be in line for the win as well.

Others To Consider:

  • Max Fried, NYY ($9.9K DK/$9.8K FD)
  • Michael Lorenzon, KCR ($7.5K DK/$7.6K FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Willy Adames, SS - SF ($4.5K DK/$3.7K FD)

I’m sure y'all are tired of hearing about Rafael Devers, so why don’t I switch it up and bring up Willy Adames. Sonny Gray has some pretty heavy reverse splits that favor the righties quite a bit in this matchup. Gray has had some pretty concerning games recently, and with how hot this Giants offense has been, I’m going to attack him.

Gray against RHH has him looking at a .350 wOBA, a .498 SLG, and a .211 ISO. Adames has hit three home runs in his last seven games, and is hitting RHP to a tune of .424 SLG, .182 ISO, and an impressive 13.4% Barrel%. The Giants should have no issue getting to Gray early and often.

Ben Rice, C/1B, NYY ($4.6K DK/$3.1K FD)

Ben Rice finds himself once again in a great position to perform. He is going up against the righty Max Scherzer, who has been hit hard by lefties this season. Rice has been in a bit of a rut, but I think he does well here against Scherzer.

Scherzer against lefties has resulted in a SLG of .503 and an ISO of .269. He also has a high Barrel% of 15.3%! This Yankees lineup has a lot of lefties and a lot of pop in the bat. I picked Rice due to his high HardHit% of 55.5% which is higher than Aaron Judge against RHP!

Colson Montgomery, 3B(FD)/SS - CWS ($4.4K DK/$3.5K FD)

Had Colson started earlier in the season, I think he would have had a real chance at ROTY, but it looks like Nick Kurtz might have that one locked up. Colson has hit five home runs in his last 10 games and gets a solid matchup against old man Charlie Morton.

Morton is still kicking it in the league, and he has been giving up some hard hits, especially to the lefties. Morton has given up a .444 SLG, a .189 ISO, and an 11.8% Barrel%. Colson has a high K%, but I’m not worried about that here against Morton. If he can make contact, then Montgomery should have no issue garnering decent fantasy points in this one.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Schwarber, OF - PHI ($6.1K DK/$4.6K FD)

Kyle Schwarber has been a menace this season, and now he goes up against the second-year pitcher in Adam Mazur. Schwarber has been on a bit of a cold streak, but he is going up against a pitcher who has some pretty rough lefty splits.

Adam Mazur, this season in his three starts, has given up a .306 wOBA, .556 SLG, and a .250 ISO to lefties this season. Schwarber has been better against lefties but has still been great against righties, sporting a .543 SLG and .307, and an absurd 63.7% HardHit%. The wind is blowing in a bit, but Schwarber is in line for a great game.

Ramon Laureano, OF - SDP ($3.5K FD)

Ramon Laureano has had solid success since joining the Padres, and is riding a solid six-game hit streak with three of them being multi-hit games. He finds himself in hitters central, Coors Field. He is going up against Tanner Gordon, who has some reverse splits for us to attack.

Against RHH, Gordon has given up a .306 OBA, .531 SLG, and a 42.8% HardHit%. Laureano has been one of the best to hit righties for the Padres as well. He is sporting a .306 average, .548 SLG, and .242 ISO. Unfortunately, this game is only on FD, cause as per usual it’s loaded with potential.

Bryan Reynolds, OF - PIT ($4.5K DK/$3.1K FD)

Bryan Reynolds has been seeing the ball so much this much; he has an eight-game on-base streak, and now he goes up against Jacob Misiorowski. Miso has fallen apart in his last five starts, and the lefties have gotten to him with a .335 wOBA and a .425 SLG.

The switch-hitter has nine home runs off righties this season, four of which have come in August. He is sporting a wOBA of .395, a SLG of .543, and an ISO of .243 in August, all of which were the best of the year for him. I’m gonna ride the hot hand in this one, as he has been able to see the ball well, getting on base via hit and walk.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. San Francisco Giants (Implied Run Total - 3.7)at St. Louis Cardinals (Sonny Gray)

Normally, I wouldn't go against Sonny Gray, but he has seen some significant regression and is going against one of the hottest teams in the nation in the Giants. In four of his last nine starts, Sonny Gray has given up six or more runs and has seen his ERA rise to 4.43. The Giants across the last two weeks have a wRC+ of 167! These numbers are just insane. If Kai-Wei Teng can keep the Cardinals under control, the Giants should cruise to another win here.

Favorite Combo: Adames, Ramos, Devers, Chapman, Schmitt

2. Philadelphia Phillies (Implied Run Total - 4.8) at Miami Marlins (Adam Mazur)

Adam Mazur has had some pretty weak starts to his career so far. In three starts this season, he has given up 10 runs, including four against a pretty weak Nationals team. He now gets a Phillies team that has been extremely good against RHP. In the last two weeks, they have sported a wRC+ of 120 with a wOBA of .345. Outside of the Giants, this is probably one of the best stacks on this slate!

Favorite Combo: Schwarber, Harper, Turner, Realmuto

3. (Sneaky Stack) Pittsburgh Pirates (Implied Run Total - 3.7) at Milwaukee Brewers (Jacob Misiorowski)

This stack is a great option for those GPP plays! Pirates have been pretty good across the last two weeks with a wRC+ of 117 against RHP. Jacob Misiorowski has started to see regression kick in after an insane start to his MLB career. The Brewers are limiting his innings quite a bit, normally going only four to five innings. Miso has given up 16 runs in his last five starts. Look for the Pirates to kick it in gear here and make a game out of this one.

Favorite Combo: Reynolds, Cruz, Horowitz, Pham
