Fantasy Baseball Players To Monitor Closely
Jacob Wilson, SS - Athletics
Rostered: 59% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: August 19-24
Wilson was seemingly running away with the American League Rookie of the Year award when he suffered his forearm injury at the end of July, but now his return seems imminent.
All Wilson has done during his time in the majors is hit. The rookie's .312 batting average currently ranks fourth in the majors. While he is a candidate for regression, his .284 xBA is still in the 86th percentile.
While the 23-year-old does not have much power in his profile, he's managed to hit 10 home runs in his first 369 at-bats. Playing at the home of the Athletics, Sutter Health Park, is also beneficial for Wilson's power output.
🚨 JACOB. IS. BACK. 🚨

Wilson hit a double in the first at-bat of his rehab assignment and could progress back to the Athletics lineup before you know it.
Fantasy managers needing a boost in batting average should try to acquire Wilson wherever they can. He's available in 59% of Yahoo! leagues, so he's likely rostered in competitive leagues, but it's worth taking a look.
Tylor Megill, SP - New York Mets
Rostered: 25% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: September
Megill has been sidelined since the middle of June with an elbow injury, but he was a dominant strikeout pitcher before then.
Megill has been with the Mets for years but has not put it all together for a full season yet. The 30-year-old appeared to be making strides early this season with an improved strikeout rate and better run prevention.
Megill owned a 1.74 ERA and 11.32 K/9 through his first six starts of the season, which ranked top-10 among starting pitchers. The right-hander possesses elite strikeout upside when he's locked in, making him a worthy stash before his return.
The veteran pitcher looked great in his recent rehab start, striking out nine in just 3 1/3 innings of work. He brought his pitch count up to 55 pitches, which means he'll likely need another rehab start or two before returning.
Megill is rostered in just 25% of Yahoo! leagues, making him a widely available potential difference-maker for the final stretch of the season.
Kyle Bradish, SP - Baltimore Orioles
Rostered: 17% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: August 25-27
Bradish hasn't seen an MLB mound since the beginning of 2024, but he appears close to making his 2025 season debut.
The Orioles right-hander had an excellent 2023 season, posting a 2.83 ERA and 168 strikeouts in 168 2/3 innings. Bradish appeared to be building on that strong season with a 2.75 ERA through his first eight starts of 2024 before experiencing his elbow injury. Bradish's K/9 also jumped from 8.96 in 2023 to 12.13 in 2024.
It is a tough task to come back from Tommy John surgery, but if Bradish can regain his form down the stretch, he can truly be a league-winner.

The 28-year-old also looked good in his recent rehab start, striking out nine in five scoreless innings and building his pitch count up to 74. Bradish is scheduled to make one more rehab start this week before making his debut early next week.
Bradish is only rostered in 17% of Yahoo! leagues and should be considered a must-add wherever he is available. He was one of the best pitchers in baseball when he was last healthy and has looked strong in his rehab.
Parker Meadows, OF - Detroit Tigers
Rostered: 6% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: September
Ryan Weathers, SP - Miami Marlins
Rostered: 4% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: September
Weathers was one of the more exciting sleepers during draft season because of his solid 2024 season, and he could provide a pitching boost in September.
The Marlins pitcher had a 3.63 ERA in 16 starts last season, and reports of increased velocity in the offseason led to some preseason hype. Weathers had a forearm injury to begin the year, but proved worthy of the hype when he found the mound in 2025.
Weathers made five starts this season, earning a 3.28 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings. After those five starts, Weathers returned to the injured list with a lat injury. The Marlins pitcher is scheduled to face hitters this week and could progress towards rehab starts soon.
Ryan Weathers will throw a live batting practice on Wednesday.
Connor Norby will begin a rehab assignment on Wednesday at Triple-A Jacksonville. #Marlins
